BlogAfrica

BlogAfrica is a new blog directory for blogs from Africa or that talk about Africa.

“BlogAfrica is a new project designed to increase the numbers of people
blogging in and about Africa and to increase the visibility of weblogs about Africa. We’ll be featuring great Africa-focused blogs created by authors within and outside of Africa, running workshops in Africa that bring together African bloggers with bloggers around the world, and, eventually, providing webspace for webloggers in Africa.”

The first BlogAfrica workshops will be taking place in Ghana in January 2004.

I think this is a very interesting initiative, and i hope it makes more people from Africa get into blogging.
I’d certainly like to see more bloggers blogging from Tunisia…

Short Films

Yesterday as i was googling around for the names of people i know, i stumbled across the website for the Amman Filmmakers Cooperative, and to my amazement, i found a number of the short films were by people i know really well ๐Ÿ™‚

I downloaded the films they made and i truly enjoyed them.
Here is a list of the films by the people i know, with a little review and an insight on who the person is ๐Ÿ™‚

Miss Digital World

Digital artists, advertising agencies and video game programmers from around the world have been asked to send a computer design of their perfect woman to missdigitalworld.com, complete with date of birth and body measurements.

“Miss Digital World” is the first beauty contest reserved for the likes of video game heroine Lara Croft, computer-cloned actresses from the “Matrix” films and new beauties tweaked to perfection with 3D graphics.

I think this is so cool. Lately 3D graphics have been getting better and better enabling artists to produce very human-like characters, and it’s about time they choose who looks best in these creations.
The most realistic characters i’ve seen are from the Final Fantasy movie, especially the guys, they look so real. I have a friend who spent half the movie looking for an actor he knows, before realizing they were all computer generated ๐Ÿ˜›

Can’t wait to see the digital hotties that will be sent to them…

Villain Supply

Just came across a website that calls itself Villain Supply, and brands itself as the online source for everything evil, lol…

I remember being to this website before, and well my destiny and a couple of web links led me to it again today ๐Ÿ˜‰

They claim to sell bases & lairs, superweapons, doomsday devices and a lot more. It’s quite funny.
I liked the offer for the Ex-AlQaeda Caves the most, lol…

Anyway, if you’re interested, check it out here.

My Photolog

Well as some of you must have noticed (from the pic on the left), i have started a photolog in which i will be posting pictures i take of places i go, things i see, stuff that’s going …etc.

I thought it would be a cool way to share what i’m seeing and where i’m going, and also an opportunity for foreigners to see different places and views in Tunisia, and last but not least, offer Tunisians abroad a constant window into Tunisia, their homeland, and somehow make them feel a bit closer ๐Ÿ™‚

The photolog is at: http://subzeroblue.textamerica.com

Check it out, hope you like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Gad El Maleh : “La Vie Normale”

Just watched the one-man-show stand-up comedy “La Vie Normale” by Gad El Maleh yesterday night, and it was hilarous.
I really enjoyed it a lot.

Gad is a Jewish Morrocan French guy, and in his sketches he makes fun of everything around us, touching everyday issues from our lives and passing some really nice messages.

I’ll be on the lookout for any other stuff by him, i really liked his style.

Talking of one-man-shows and stand-up comedies, i truly wish Lamine El-Nahdi and Raouf Ben Yaghlane do some shows in Ramadan this year too. My wife and I went to their shows last year, and we laughed our heads off.
They’re amazing, truly the best arab comedians in my point of view. I don’t even think the Egyption superstar Adel Imam could pull off such a great show on his own.

Flash Baine

A flash-mob is to target David Blaine, an american illusionist who planned to spend 44 days and nights suspended in a clear plastic box with nothing but water to sustain him, tonight as he enters his final week in at Tower Bridge.

The organisers of the Flashblaine event (as they called it, and which is due to run for just three minutes) say they hope it will be the biggest flash-mob in the world.

They want people to sound their mobile phone ringtones together at exactly 7:44pm and then chant “what goes up, must come down” at Blaine, then laugh manically and hold an item of food in the air.

For more details about the Flashbaine event, click here.

Flash-mobbing is a US-born phenomena in which hundreds of people spontaneously arrive at a designated area and carry out short, random acts.

I think it’s really cool and fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Lunar Embassy

Today i re-found this website i stumbled upon a year or so ago, which is a quite interesting online business, it’s a startup that sells real estate on the moon.

Actually, the website offers land on Mars & Venus too, as well as an option to have your name added to their registry which they claim will be sent and hosted on the moon this year.

Want more ? well you can actually even get a Lunar Passport, and become a true alien after buying some real estate through them.

I think it’s a cool and fun idea, even though it’s bogus.
