Movie Roundup

It’s been a while since I blogged about the movies I’ve seen. It doesn’t mean I haven’t been seeing any, you know that’s impossible, I just haven’t been writing about it.

So here is a list of the movies I’ve seen lately:

– Cellular
– Shall We Dance?
– Taking Lives
– The Door In The Floor
– The Punisher
– Surviving Christmas

And now here’s a little review of each one…

Newborn Boy Tossed Out Car Window

In Florida, USA:

A newborn was tossed out a car window onto the grass beside a busy street Thursday afternoon, and the car sped off, authorities said.

Investigators were seeking the parents of the boy, whose umbilical cord was still attached when he was found by a woman passer-by. Doctors believe the infant was less than an hour old at the time.

The woman who rescued the baby who was inside a small plastic bag said she saw a man and woman arguing inside the vehicle.

Whoever did this, whether they’re the baby’s parents or someone else, are extremely horrible people. I really can’t imagine how anyone could do such a terrible thing to an innocent newborn baby.

Don’t they have any feelings at all?
Don’t they feel any respect for life?
Even animals wouldn’t do such a thing!

These people should be caught and thrown into jail for a very very long time.

MBC4

In response to the launch and success of One TV, the guys at MBC have redefined their Channel 2 as the first free 24h/24 movie channel and launched MBC4 to group a bunch of imported sitcoms, soap operas, talk shows and news shows.

By doing this they’ve made both channels more interesting to watch. And aside One TV they’ve made leaving the couch in front of the TV a harder task to accomplish.

I especially enjoy the variety of sitcoms available now.
And it’s nice when I catch a movie here or there that I haven’t watched already or that I feel like seeing again.

Happy New Hijri Year 1426

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Hijri Year 1426.

May it be a blessed, happy and joyful year for you all bringing you prosperity, success and great health.

On another note…
Even though this occasion is still marked all over the Islamic world, people are giving it less and less importance. It’s becoming more and more like one of those meaningless days off.
What is weird is that muslims are now celebrating all sorts of things from valentine’s day to halloween to christmas to almost everything, but they fail to truly celebrate the start of a new year in the Islamic calendar.

It’s been 1426 years since the muslims, led by prophet Mohamed (PBUH), migrated from Mecca to Yathrib (now Al Madina El Munawwarah), marking a very important point in the history of Islam.

I think muslims should give more importance to this day and teach their children more about their religion and its history.
I know that we’re all modern people of the future, but our history is part of who we are and that should never be forgotten or taken lightly.

Google Blogger Fired

Yet another blogger bites the dust for blogging about his job…

Mark Jen, a blogger whose candid comments about life on the job at Google sparked controversy last month, has left the company.

“Mark is no longer an employee at Google,” a Google representative said in response to an inquiry Tuesday. Efforts to reach Jen for comment were not immediately successful.

Jen’s departure comes less than a month after he joined Google as part of a wave of new hires and began recording his impressions of his new employer, including criticisms, in his blog.

I’m not sure what this guy wrote about Google and working there that got him fired. But I do know from previous stories of other people that it doesn’t always have to be a good enough reason.

Anyway some people do take it too far and deserve to be fired for what they blog.

My stand on this whole issue is that if you’re going to blog about your job, you might as well keep yourself anonymous and make sure no one from your company knows about it.
You never know what it is that you’ll write that will piss them off.

Subzero Blue is Back

I don’t know what to say…
This past week was so frustrating for me…

The blog dissapeared all of a sudden, but then it turns out the hosting company is just relocating servers. Phew… But not for too long, as the relocation ends and the blog is still not there, Panic takes over…
I go insane and border on depression…

Every day the news gets worse, first all the files were lost, then all the data was lost too, and so there was nothing left of the blog but some files lying around here and there on my desktop which would at best serve as painful memories…

Anyway, I just logged on the net a while ago and WOW here’s the blog in all it’s glory back up again.

I don’t know who, how or where…
I just know it’s online…
Thank you to whoever saved it…

A big thank you to Houssein who has been hosting this blog and who put a lot of effort into this whole story over the past week…

I’d also like to thank my wife Eman for her support throughout the past days, Natasha for caring and asking about the blog, Haitham for offering to help in anyway that he could and to everyone who thought of Subzero Blue in this past week and missed it.

Hi, Sexy… Let’s Do Your Taxes

Now, this is funny…

“Hi, sexy. Welcome to Intimate Encounters.”

Not exactly the kind of message you expect to hear in the middle of doing your taxes, but that’s just what some TurboTax customers are getting as they try to set up their state returns.

The message pops up when TurboTax Business users advance to their state tax return and decide they need to file for more than the single state return supported in the product. The message in the software tells them they can purchase software for additional states, at $30 each, online or by calling an 800 number.

That number goes straight to Intimate Encounters, which bills itself as “the exciting new way to go live, one-on-one, with hot…girls waiting to talk with you.” The pre-recorded message on the site makes no mention of tax preparation services, although you never know what you can get for 99 cents a minute.

LOL…
Now that’s a creative way to do taxes, don’t you think ๐Ÿ˜‰
That way everyone would file their taxes and they’d actually be very happy about it, lol…
