Understanding People

The reality of the other person is not in what he reveals to you, but in what he cannot reveal to you. Therefore, if you would understand him, listen not to what he says but rather what he does not say.

  1. You’re welcome ๐Ÿ™‚
Happy to have somehow inspired you through his words into reading that book ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t wait to read “The Prophet” myself too.

It’s always a pleasure to hear from you ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. My fellow Bostonian, the brilliant Mr. Gibran had a long-term relationship with the artist Mary Haskell, a cousin of my maternal grandmother, Mary Emma Farrar. All these people were born within a year of each other.

The arts and many artists flourished in 19th century Boston. Indeed, family legend has it that Gibran knew and was good friends with another Farrar cousin, the opera singer Geraldine Farrar.

  3. @Janissary: So that puts Khalil Gibran less than six degrees of separation away from you ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Triple M: You’re welcome ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy it talked to you in some way ๐Ÿ™‚
