Magnetic Cards to Enter Mosques in Tunisia: Not True!!!

While checking Google News today, I found a rather weird and alarming bit of news about Tunisia, taken from a site called Jihad Unspun.

The article claims that Tunisian Muslims must now carry magnetic ID cards to enter mosques for prayers.

It says, "According to Al-Hadi Mehanna, Tunisia’s new interior minister, any one wish to pray in a Mosque will have to apply and obtain a personal magnetic card."
And they go on with crazy details about how these cards will be issued and used.

Jihad Unspun state their source for this information as a certain Arabic online site called "Sawt Al Haq".

First of all, his name is Hedi Mhenni, and he is not Tunisia's new interior minister. He was interior minister in the past and now is the secretary general of the RCD (Democratic Constitutional Rally). So that's one major piece of the story that is wrong.

Secondly this news has nothing to do with reality. I live in Tunisia, and neither I, nor anyone I know has heard of anything as absurd as this. Nothing is mentioned about any such thing in the local press, both state owned and private. Nothing on the national TV stations, both state-owned and private. Nothing on the radio stations, both state-owned and private.
And, honestly I don't really think something this big would go unnoticed by everyone.

Other than that, in my opinion, this news is totally impossible and completely illogical.

So, I hope people would check out their facts and information sources before publishing something like this, which is clearly a pile of bullshit, especially if they've reached a certain level where their news is actually used in sites like Google News.

What is said is not true. As Subzeroblu said, Dr. Mhenni is the former interior minister. And I have an information from an official ressource, Dr. Mhenni himself, that that info is wrong.
