World Wide Walker Jean Béliveau in Tunisia
Canadian Jean Béliveau, who is touring the world by foot, is now in Tunis, Tunisia; He arrived here a month ago. He has already toured a number of regions in the country as part of his world wide walk.
On August 18th, 2000, at 9:00 am, Jean Béliveau left Montreal, Canada. His goal: to walk around the planet to promote "Peace and non-violence to the profit of the children of the world".
He is travelling alone with a three wheeled stroller to carry a bit of food, his clothing, a First Aid kit, a small tent and a sleeping bag.
Jean's plan is to walk across all the continents, from North America to South America, then across to South Africa, up to Europe, then the Middle East, South and Eastern Asia, Australia, New Zealand and finally back to Canada.
He has made it to Tunisia, so it seems he's nearly over with the African leg of his tour.
His 12 year journey is in accordance with the United Nations proclamation: 2001-2010 - International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World.
