Rafik Al-Hariri Killed in Bomb Attack

In what has been described as the biggest blast since the dark days of the Lebanese civil war…

Former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Al-Hariri has been killed in an apparent large-scale bomb attack on his motorcade in Beirut, a bodyguard and officials at the American University of Beirut hospital told CNN.

Hariri, 60, a multi-billionaire businessman who resigned from government last October, recently joined calls by the opposition for Syria to quit Lebanon in the run-up to general elections in May, Reuters reported.

Hariri served as prime minister from 1992-98 and again from 2000 until his resignation after parliament amended the Lebanese constitution to extend Syrian-backed President Emile Lahoud’s term by three years. Lahoud had been set to leave office last November.

It’s really a shame for something like this to happen and break the peace.

I am no expert in Lebanese affairs, but from what I do know, i believe Rafik Al-Hariri did a lot of great things for Lebanon and it’s economy.
I think his death is a really big loss for the country.

May his soul rest in peace…

  3. hello i want to say that rafik was the most powerfull man and nearly every one in the world really respected him so much and he would always help the poor when they needed some support and someone to take care of them and get them what they need. Rafik alhariri was so famouse and very intelligent in heart and soul but he is one of the most courages and most out rages people in the world because what he does not any one culd do and he was very combfortable with what he was doin because he was helping the poor and supprorting the needy and he would get the good sins for that very good deed he had done through out his life and that would lead him more towards heaven and get his way really easily there now that is what you really call a prime minister and a very good man, a good man doesn’t have to be any man around the earths surface that just does good stuff to be a show off about them selves no? A good man does right and will always do right for example beirut was not a good country and as well as lebanon but who made it a good country rafik alhariri di so. rafik would do the good because it would make him feel good and he would do it because god sent a bible which tells us that if you have lots of mney and you really don’t need all of it you can go to some poor person and you will paid from god maybe more than you gave that poor person and that will be vey good and it will lead you closer to heaven and it will get you lot’s of good sins and you then will be very proud of your self and will do more and more thats what hariri was like and im sure anyone could be like that to.

  4. hey yo/ lebanon becomes sad back cuz hariri soul crack but hariri im think still in our hads 4eva we never 4get him by thats we can convince
we want the truth about kiling the prince

guy i will become high and high tell i will go there in the sky to live my peace with him mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn we wanna the truth come in god help us to reach hariri draem ok …./

  5. let’s get something straight here, it was NOT syria who killed Rafik al-Hariri. Let’s think about this logically: Syria is already under the spotlight, and many people think that Syria is the next Iraq, or as far as Bush is concerned. They would not go get in more trouble so Bush can seize the oppurtunity and attack them. Who benefits from Lebanon and Syria tension?? That’s right, Israel. Israel is the one who killed Rafik al-Hariri, in hopes that Syria and lebanon will turn on each other, so they can swoop in and conquer both. Rafik al-hariri would be ashamed to see the lebanese people turning on their syrian brothers like this. let’s all calm down and join together to stop another massacre of our leaders like the Rafik al-Hariri martyrship.
    May he rest in peace.
