Quote of the day

“The demolitions are part of an ongoing war against Palestinian civilians that goes far beyond terrorist attacks. So disproportionate is the Israeli response, so indiscriminate in its attacks upon an innocent civilian population — some 1,200 houses have been demolished in Gaza the past three years — that Israeli actions can only be described as state terrorism. Attacks on non-combatant populations, collective punishment and the demolition of homes are all illegal under international law and constitute war crimes…”

  1. I enjoy the postings of your blog. The Israeli government makes the country a leading contender for being first among the “Axis of Evil,” as designated by the unelected president of the U.S. Of course different standards apply if you have the world’s second largest supply of oil, or if you your country has a lobby [Israel] that can buy the best U.S. senators money will allow. My questions are twofold: with all the oil-related wealth of the Arab world, why isn’t there any more visible financial and military support for Palestine, and why can’t an Arab lobby in Washington, D.C. match Israel with the buying power that translates into a more reasoned American foreign policy toward Palestine?

  2. Well, there always was some financial support from Arab countries, especially in the past and after arab leagues summits.
But what I think was wrong is that this was not organized well, the donated money was insufficient, and to top it all the money couldn’t reach the Palestinians a lot of times because of Israel’s interference.

Plus, don’t forget that Israel and the US are painting Palestinians as terrorists now and that any donation to them will be regarded as donating money to terrorists and will result in problems for the donating country.

As for why there are no Arab lobbies in the US doing what Israeli lobbies are doing, well I really don’t know.
Everybody knows that this is how politics work and that to be able to get their message across they have to do what the people with the opposite message are doing.
It beats me why there isn’t more effort and money being put into this.
It’s wrong for countries and policies to be built on stuff like this, but obviously this is the case.

On another note, I’m happy you enjoy my blog ๐Ÿ™‚
    Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
