Published by January 29th, 2007 in Future Arab SuperStar - Season 4. 10 CommentsToday’s episode of SuperStar was the last one from the auditions stage, showing auditions from Jordan and Lebanon.
The numbers of participants who passed from each country the auditions were held in are as follows:
Tunisia: 31
USA: 8
Canada: 5
Egypt: 11
Kuwait: 5
Dubai: 3
Jordan: 8
Lebanon: 37
So a total of 108 contestants have passed on to the second stage of SuperStar this year.
Over the next 3 episodes, we’ll be seeing the judges test these contestants on stage in Lebanon to cut down the number and choose the best twenty participants to move on to the third stage of the show.
Throughout this episode they also showed a number of the people who passed to the second stage from all the countries, and there are some pretty good voices in there, which promises a heated competition in the future stages of the show.
The suspense starts next week as we get to know the contestants better, the cuts begin and we plunge into another great season of SuperStar.

3 CommentsSuper Star 4 - Episode 2 - Auditions
Published by January 21st, 2007 in Future Arab SuperStar - Season 4. 5 CommentsThe second auditions episode of Super Star 4 just ended a few minutes ago.
It started off by announcing the number of participants, who were chosen to pass to the second stage in Lebanon, from each country shown in the first episode.
The numbers of contestants by country up to now is as follows:
Tunisia: 31
USA: 8
Canada: 5
The auditions that were shown today were some of the ones held in Egypt, Dubai and Kuwait.
Personally, I didn’t think there were that many great voices shown today, only a few who actually deserved to pass, but then again they don’t really show everyone on the show at this stage.
Some really funny situations and performances as usual; it always amazes me how many people out there are convinced they have great voices, when they actually sound so bad.
Not much more information to share at this very moment, but more will come soon.
5 CommentsSuper Star 4 - Episode 1 - Auditions
Published by January 21st, 2007 in Future Arab SuperStar - Season 4. 8 CommentsThe first episode of Super Star 4 has started on January 14 2007, the show starts of with a recap of how the arab world’s favourite show returns to find a new singing star despite showing many BAD singers!
The audition cities shown tonight are: Tunis, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit & Los Angeles
The show has mostly really bad auditions, only very few successful candidates are shown this year compared to ALL successful candidates being shown last year along with their name and country at the bottom of the screen. In Tunis, there was two identical twins who sang Oyoun El Soud really well, but when they sang alone they were SUPER MAHDOUM! One of the funnier bad auditions was the boy from Tunis singing while beating his shoe box. Three females made it to the next round from this episode.
One of the most sung songs at Super Star 4 auditions was Wa Wa by Haifa Wehbe, one man sang it tragically well.
The first successful candidate from Tunis was a tiny tiny boy who sang Mistaniyek and the judges thought was not of legal audition age of 15, but his mother convinced them that he is 15. I personally thought he wasn’t that good as his voice will change quite a lot when he gets older.
The Los Angeles auditions were not that good at all except for one girl who had a very strong american accent when speaking arabic, no Haitam El Shoumali’s or Ahmed El Faleh’s this year.
In Detroit there was a VERY good male singer with a blue shirt, but Ziad did not think he was up to it, such a shame. The first successful candidate was Camillia who sang Insaa from Oum Koulthoum then I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston she was good but has more looks than voice, in Ziad’s words she was “SMOKIN’”.
Toronto and Montreal didn’t produce many good singers from what I saw, the rest of the show was full of crazy, mental and bad singers. Other auditions will be shown tomorrow here in Australia, hopefully it will be a bit better.
PS sorry to be so late it’s been a busy week!

5 CommentsIbrahim El Hakami is Arab SuperStar 2005
Published by February 6th, 2006 in Future Arab SuperStar - Season 3. 33 CommentsThe results for this season of Arab SuperStar have just been announced and the 3rd Arab SuperStar is Ibrahim El Hakami from Saudi Arabia.
Congratulations to Ibrahim El Hakami, he really deserves it.
I wish him the very best in his musical career.
Personally, I’m happy he won, as he’s the one I wanted between the two.
Shahd has a great voice, maybe the best of them all in this season, but it’s not just the voice that makes the artist, it’s also his personality and his loyalty. Ibrahim showed he was better than her in those areas making him a better rounded star. (no pun intended
)
All of this season’s finalists were present and the show kicked off with each one of them singing a part of a song, which was really cool.
Later the two finalists performed one song each, which were:
- Ibrahim El Hakami: Samma’ni Ghiniyyeh (Abd El Majeed Abdallah)
- Shahd Barmada: Habbeina ou Ithabbeina (Mayyeda El Hinnawi)
Again Congratulations to Ibrahim El Hakami, and my best wishes to him, Shahd and all the other finalists in their careers. They were all really great and all deserve to have great musical careers.
33 Comments05/02/06: Prime 11 : The Final : Future Arab SuperStar
Published by February 5th, 2006 in Future Arab SuperStar - Season 3. 24 CommentsThe eleventh and final prime of this season of Arab SuperStar on Future TV just ended.
The guest of this prime was Lebanese star Nancy Ajram, and she kicked off the episode with her song “Lawn Oyounak”.
Each contestant performed three songs tonight, and the list of the songs is as follows:
Ibrahim El Hakmi (Saudi Arabia): Yalli T’ibna Sineen Fi Hawah (George Wassouf)
Shahd Barmada (Syria): Dinya Min El Walah (Abdallah Rweishid)
Ibrahim El Hakmi (Saudi Arabia): I’tariflak (Mohamed Abdo)
Shahd Barmada (Syria): Ana Indi Haneen (Feirooz)
Ibrahim El Hakmi (Saudi Arabia): Sa’alouni El Nas (Feirooz)
Shahd Barmada (Syria): El Oyoun El Soud (Warda)
Both contestants did great as usual, and the decision will be hard. I think that vocally Shahd should win, personality-wise Ibrahim should win, but it’s the public’s votes that make the decision.
I don’t know why I have this feeling this year’s superstar will be Ibrahim El Hakmi though.
Good luck to both candidates, they both deserve the title.

24 Comments30/01/06 : Prime 10 Results : Finals : Future Arab SuperStar
Published by January 30th, 2006 in Future Arab SuperStar - Season 3. 23 CommentsThe results for the tenth prime of the Future Arab SuperStar finals were just announced, and one of the candidates had to leave.
It seems like Aymen Lasseeg thought of withdrawing today after he got feedback from Tunisia that people were not able to vote all night long yesterday and early today. He only cooled down when he heard that the lines were opened at around 11AM today.
Anyway, it seems it was a bit too late because the contestant who had to leave today was: Aymen Lasseeg (Tunisia).
I wasn’t expecting this result, and as I said before, I believe the final should have been between Shahd and Aymen.
However, Aymen is a great singer, and he can count me in as a fan of his. I’ll be trying my best to follow his career after SuperStar and I wish him the very best of luck.
So, the final is between Shahd Barmada from Syria and Ibrahim El Hakmi from Saudi Arabia. Honestly, I think Shahd deserves the title.
Next week’s guest is Lebanese star Nancy Ajram.

The guest of this prime was Lebanese star Julia Boutros and so the episode kicked off with a medley of her songs, which included: Wain Msafer, Bi Saraha, Ana Batnaffas Horriyya and Ghabet Shams El Haqq.
Each contestant performed three songs tonight, and the list of the songs is as follows:
Aymen Lasseeg (Tunisia): Izzet Nafsi (Saber El Rbai)
Ibrahim El Hakmi (Saudi Arabia): Bitrohlak Mishwar (Wadee El Safi)
Shahd Barmada (Syria): Ya Soghr El Farh (Hussein El Jasmi)
Aymen Lasseeg (Tunisia): Ya Isas (Julia Boutros)
Ibrahim El Hakmi (Saudi Arabia): Ba’eed Annak (Om Kolthoum)
Shahd Barmada (Syria): Diggou El Mahabeej (Feirooz)
Aymen Lasseeg (Tunisia): El Atlal (Om Kolthoum)
Ibrahim El Hakmi (Saudi Arabia): We Tirhal (Talal Meddah)
Shahd Barmada (Syria): Fi Youm We Leila (Warda)
I think all the contestants did great today, and it’ll be really hard to have one of them leave tomorrow. Anyway, if it were up to me, I guess I’d have Aymen and Shahd in the final.
Julia Boutros performed two songs: “Ala Shou” and “Shi Ghareeb”.
She also said that her new album is basically ready for print and that it should be out soon, so that’s great news for fans like me.
The guest next week will be Lebanese star Nancy Ajram.
