3 CommentsThe results for yesterday’s episode, the first one of the third stage, in which the female contestants had to perform a solo song of their choice, just aired on Future TV.
The five winners who will be passing to the finals are:
- Yosra Mahnoush (Tunisia)
- Eliane Ba’ayni (Lebanon)
- Nesma Kurdi (Egypt)
- Nada Omar (Egypt)
- Rihab Salah (Egypt)
So a big win for the Egyptian candidates this year with all but one of them passing directly to the finals.
The five other contestants will have to compete again in a last chance episode as a final attempt to make it to the finals.
A surprise was announced in this episode, and it is related to the next episode where the male contestants will be competing against each other; the surprise is that the jury this year got to save two contestants from the previous stage, these two male contestants are from Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and they will be competing in next sunday’s episode.
4 CommentsThe first episode of the third stage of Arab SuperStar 4 just aired on Future TV.
In this episode, the 10 female contestants had to perform one song of their choice, and then based on the voting of the public only 5 of them will make it to the next stage.
The following is the list of female contestants and the songs they performed today:
- Yosra Mahnoush (Age: 20, from Tunisia): El Atlal (Om Kolthoum)
- Miray Dahab (Age: 26, from Lebanon): Ya Albi La Tit’ib Albak (Feirooz)
- Salwa El Ghali (Age: 23, from Egypt): Isma’ouni (Warda)
- Eliane B’ayni (Age: 21, from Lebanon): Ya Msahharni (Om Kolthoum)
- Sawsan Najjar (Age: 29, from Iraq): Aktar (Asalah Nasri)
- Nada Omar (Age: 17, from Egypt): Mish Holl Hobb (Dhikra)
- Raoudha Ben Abdallah (Age: 19, from Tunisia): Oyoun El Soud (Warda)
- Nesma Kurdi (Age: 19, from Egypt): Aw’idak (Souad Mohamad)
- Rihab Salah (Age: 24, from Egypt): Balak (Shireen)
- Huda Bibbah (Age: 21, from Tunisia): Alli Gara (Olayya)
Personally, my favorite performers and the five I think should pass to the finals are: Yosra Mahnoush, Miray Dahab, Salwa El Ghali, Sawsan Najjar and Huda Bibbah.
Raoudha Ben Abdallah and Nesma Kurdi also gave good performances.
You can vote online for your favorite performers on the website: futuresuperstar.com.
Voting goes on until tomorrow evening just before the results are announced.
Good luck to all the contestants.

6 CommentsThe last episode from the second stage just ended on Future TV.
52 contestants went into this last round, knowing that there was no space for error, and that only 20 of them would be making it to the next stage of the competition.
The contestants had to choose one of the following two songs to perform solo:
- Zay El Asal (Sabah)
- Ya Habibi Ta’ala (Fadl Shaker)
Personally, I didn’t think that many performances stood out from this episode, but well, maybe it’s a bit too early to judge from the tidbits that they aired.
So, in the end, 20 contestants were given the green light to move on to the next stage, equally divided, 10 male contestants and 10 females.
I did think that there were some people who deserved to pass who didn’t, and others who didn’t do that well who did, but well it remains the judge’s decision after all.
For the next stage, it will be up to the viewers to vote for the ten who will make it to the finals.
The way they did it last year is that there will be 4 episodes where we’ll have five candidates, of which two get to pass each time, and then a fifth second-chance episode that brings the total up to 10 finalists.
Frequent visitor alilstar thinks that the top 20 will compete in two different shows. Top 10 guys to be brought down to 5 and top 10 girls brought down to 5 and then another two get picked from the losers circle.

2 CommentsThe second episode of round 2 aired on Sunday, and as usual it was really fun to watch.
As announced the week before, the contestants had to sing in duos and they had to choose between Abd El Halim’s “Awel marra” or Fayrouz’s “Nassam 3alayna el hawa”.
After they finished singing, the 82 contestants were split into groups and each group got called up on stage to be told either that the whole group made it or the whole group didn’t.
The last group, made of 11 contestants, were given a second chance and they were asked to sing a song of their choice. Some of them made it through, but we’ll only know who in the next episode.
Anyway, in the end only 52 contestants have passed through to round 3 that airs next Sunday, where each contestant will get to sing an individual song.
After that only 20 will be making it to Stage 3 of the competition.

5 CommentsLast night Future TV showed the first day of the second stage. A total of 107 participants were divided into groups; Members of each group had to sing individually on stage in front of the jury. Afterwards each group was called on stage and the results were announced: who made it and who didn’t.
Up to now no names are being announced, I guess we’ll only get to learn the candidates’ names in the next stage of the competition, when we get to start voting for them.
After this first round the number of participants has dropped from 107 to 82.
In the next round, the 82 remaining contestants will be divided into little teams of 2 and will have to sing a duet.
The jury’s comments on the first round was that they were shocked by some of the performances: Some who were relatively good in the 1st stage were outstanding in the second stage, while others who the jury thought were great performed in an awful way causing their elimination.
