The search began in the Northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, and will be continuing in Lebanon and throughout several other countries/cities, among which we find Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt and Iraq; as the judges look for and select the most talented singers.

This year we won’t be having Aymen Kaysouni as the show host, but instead there will be two new hosts who are: Egyptian SuperStar 1 contestant Wael Mansour and Lebanese TV show host Majdala Khattar.

There will also be a small change in the panel of judges: This year they will be Elias Al-Rahbani, Abdullah Al-Gaoud, Ziad Boutros and Egyptian vocal instructor Jehan Al-Naser.

As more and more info and news start coming out about Arab SuperStar 5, this is the place you’ll be sure to find it.

All the 13 contestants who made it to the finals came back for this episode and the show kicked off with them all singing a group song: “Shukran Ya Arab”.

After that each one of the two finalists sang an individual song, one they performed before and that touched the audience most this season:

Saad Lemjarred (Morocco): Ala Babi Wa’ef Amarein (Milhem Barakat)
Marouen Ali (Tunisia): Sayyajna Libnan (Wadi’ El Safi)

Then the 13 contestants sang a medley of songs they performed throughout this season of SuperStar.

And finally the winner was announced, and it was: Marouen Ali from Tunisia.

SuperStar Marouen Ali then performed Feirooz’s song “Khabtet Adamkom” which was another of the songs that stood out from this season of SuperStar.

The 13 contestants will be going on a tour around the Arab world; Dates and places will be announced in the near future.

I’m very happy with the result for once; Marouen truly deserved it the most from all the contestants who made it to the finals. He passed to the finals from the “Last Chance” episode, but worked hard and got better with every prime, totally deserving the title of Arab SuperStar 2007.

Marouen’s parents and Saad’s wife “Thameen” were present in the audience in this episode.

The show kicked off with the two finalists singing a medley of Assi Hilani’s songs.

As for the contestants’ songs, each contestant performed three songs and one duet, here’s the list of the individual performances:

Saad Lemjarred (Morocco):

Marouen Ali (Tunisia):

As for the duet between the two finalists, it was:
Eini (Hisham Abbas + Hameed El Shairi)

Only one contestant will be crowned Arab SuperStar today, depending on your votes. Personally, I think Marouen deserves it the most, but again it’s up to you all to decide.

The first contestant to pass to the finals was Marouen Ali (Tunisia); leaving the other two in the danger zone.

The contestant who had to leave the show this week was:
- Yosra Mahnoush (Tunisia)

I was expecting either Saad or Yosra to leave, although I hoped the final would be between Marouen Ali and Yosra Mahnoush, anyway good luck to Yosra in her career, she has a great voice and deserves all the best.

So, the final show of this season of SuperStar is next week, and the competition will be a tight one between:
- Marouen Ali (Tunisia)
- Saad El Mjarred (Morocco)

Good luck to both of them; But honestly, in my opinion, Marouen Ali deserves the title by far.

The star guest of the show will be Lebanese star Assi Hilani.

I think the show was recorded from last week and not live, mainly because they didn’t put the “Live” label on and because there was no mention of the delay or of the events that happened last week.

Needless to say it was an awful performance and Kremena was actually eliminated on the same night hehe! She could have chosen a better arabic song but she is the first contestant outside of Super Star to actually sing an arabic song on the show!
