Future Arab SuperStarThe last episode from the second stage just ended on Future TV.
52 contestants went into this last round, knowing that there was no space for error, and that only 20 of them would be making it to the next stage of the competition.
The contestants had to choose one of the following two songs to perform solo:
- Zay El Asal (Sabah)
- Ya Habibi Ta’ala (Fadl Shaker)
Personally, I didn’t think that many performances stood out from this episode, but well, maybe it’s a bit too early to judge from the tidbits that they aired.
So, in the end, 20 contestants were given the green light to move on to the next stage, equally divided, 10 male contestants and 10 females.
I did think that there were some people who deserved to pass who didn’t, and others who didn’t do that well who did, but well it remains the judge’s decision after all.
For the next stage, it will be up to the viewers to vote for the ten who will make it to the finals.
The way they did it last year is that there will be 4 episodes where we’ll have five candidates, of which two get to pass each time, and then a fifth second-chance episode that brings the total up to 10 finalists.

What I wrote was the way I thought it could be done, but it’s true, it could be done the way you described it.
I’m not sure if they gave exact details in the episode, I wasn’t that concentrated towards the end, I’ll check and get back with more info asap.

personally, I do agree with what you said as far as people making it who did not deserve to make it, personally saad, the morrocan, he messed up words in both the duet and the song afterwards..how is this guy going to even get on stage???? the only really good contestant that made it through is a 16 year old syrian boy who was selected in kuwait, another thing, notice the lack of syrian/jordainian/palestinian contestants? whilst many of them deserved the chance to be in the final 20, needless to say superstar is becoming more of a political statment by future television! i dont know if you guys agree though.

In comparison with American Idle, I think superstar is far better. We do have talented contestants and I believe that it is very hard for judges to make their decisions in a short time. Basides everyone has deferent taste. Anyway, A talented person will make it, whether in superstar or not. Good luck to everyone…
MMM, my husband is a top 20 contestant and so far, it is 10 guys compete and 10 girls, not 5 different shows….from the 10 and 10, 12 will compete each week. The top 12 will be decided by the worlds votes, NO longer the judges decisions.

Please lets try to keep the politics away. It is true there are no serian, no jordanian and no palestinian contestants, however, there were many of Serian, Palestinian and Jordanian contenstants in the first and second round auditions. There is also no one from the Gulf, etc., so we can’t stay it’s politics, Lets wish all the contestants the best of luck!
