Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 7

Another episode of SuperStar was on Future TV last night.
The guest was Nawal from Kuwait, and the whole episode was Gulf music flavoured as all the candidates had to sing Khaleeji (Gulf) songs.

The episode kicked off with a medley of Nawal’s songs which set the tone for what was to be a great episode.
Yesterday, all the contestants were truly amazing and did a great job. It’ll be real hard choosing who to vote for.

As nobody was voted out last week, they’ll be making up for it this week by dropping two contestants out. Ouch!

Anyway my favourites from last night were:

- Ammar Hassan (Palestine)
- Muhannad Mshallah (Syria)
- Houssam Madaniyyah (Syria)
- Hadi Aswad (Syria)

The candidates sang the following songs last night:

- Muhannad Mshallah : Mahma Jara
- Abeer Ni’meh : Weeli (Rashed El Majed)
- Abd El Rahman Mohamed : Wi Tirhal (Talal Meddah)
- Husam Madaniyyah : Bint El Noor (Mohamed Abdo)
- Brigitte Yaghi : Ahtajak Ana (Ahlam)
- Ranim Quteit : Ya Naseena (Rashed El Majed)
- Ammar Hassan : Leela (Abd El Rabb Idriss)
- Ayman El A’tar : Msafer (Thikra)
- Hadi Aswad : Raheeb (Abd El Majeed Abdallah)

Even though some of the contestants got the accent better than others, but still artistically and musically speaking they all did great.

It was a delight watching it even though I’m not such a big fan of Khaleeji music.

One of the things I also love about SuperStar is that it introduces me to all other kinds of Arab music and shows me how great it is and gets me hooked on it more and more.

My dear music critics; yesterday’s episode was average in comparison to previous ones. It could be that, speaking for myself, are not that used to heavy doses of Khaleeji music and thus the listening was not as intense. I’m a bit troubled at the many spin offs the show has went through in comparison to the American Idol version. Future TV taking the decision to go from 12 contestants to 17 and then voting off six contestants in the first three episodes is unfair. Then now the “Khaleeji music night”, which is fine in terms of music variation however coupled by the fact that two contestants are going to be voted off, becomes troubling.

At any rate I thought that Ammar, Housam M., Ayman A’tar and Ranim stood out from the rest of the group. I’m a big fan of Mohannd and Abeer however I think their performances were not as convincing. It is no secret that Brigitte and Hadi are not on the top of my list, mere comments about Hadi improving in his performances gives further credence to the fact that he only made it this far because of his looks, same with Brigitte. I wonder how much more exciting the episodes would have been if Rania and Wa’ad had stayed instead.

Well, at this stage I only can wish all Good Luck, may the best voices stay.

Abu Farweh - Good Day

Hi all..last night episode was o.k. The best were :
1.Muhanad-he proved he can seng everything
2. Aymman-not an easy song, however he was superb and he was influence in khaligi
3. Briggette- good choice
4. Raneem-
The rest..mmm, well they sucked! Their khaligi accent sucks! especially ammar and hadi..what were they thinking! Not a single word right! They sung funny!.
I think this week hadi & abd should go out..out..out

WOW Ali, Ammar sucked, and Briggette did good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh i am sorry you mean how they looked. lol

5. 5 Roba Jul 12th, 2004 at 3:58 pm

I thought that Ammar And Briggite did well, as did Ayman. The only person who did bad was Hadi, he completely messed up on the accent and the tone and his voice is just not appropriate for Khaleeji at all. The rest of the group did okay, though Hasan and Ranim did a lot better than Abir, and Abdul Rahman. I can’t say anything about Muhannad because I honestly can’t stand his voice.

6. 6 dude Jul 12th, 2004 at 4:01 pm

My prediction: I think Ranim will leave for sure, and then Abdel Rahman. Take care — Dude

Guys,
what time does the voting results come on, and how many times is it run
Thanks

hi all…….i think this episode wasn’t as good as the ones before but we can’t blame the contestants bec i think that it is unfair to let them sing khaliji bec after the program no one will be singing khaliji except abd.
My favourites are ranim and hadi, but i agree that hadi wasn’t that good but again i’m saying that we can’t blame them for the accent.this is not a problem they can learn it later..ranim was perfect and i think he was the best from last night.
Syria123, plz try to say your opinion in a better way..i like brigitte and hadi but not for their looks..i like their voices. It’s your right not to love them but it’s not your right at all to say that the people who love them are ignorant and love them for their looks

9. 9 Abbood Jul 12th, 2004 at 5:12 pm

I must start by saying that what Ammar did was a crime to one of the most romantic khaleegi songs ever. He converted it into more of a military or a national song. Just listen to how Idris sings the part of “Soutik, Hamsik, Beiti Safari…” and compare it to Ammar’s and you will realize why I say that what Ammar did was a crime. I can never say enough about how terrible his performance was to an absolutely amazing song. And by the way Abu Farweh, I definitly one the bet: Ya Allah was all shouting in addition to the last 20 seconds or so of the song.

Some of the rest were bad in a funny way. They just found the dialect very hard and it just was not comaptible with their backgrounds. This was specially obvious for Muhannad, Abir, Hussam (the worst), Ranim, Hadi (us khaleegis never say 2azab, it’s 3athab). I can’t believe I am saying this, but actually Ayman and Brigget were the best this week.

Not too fast though, I mean the best among the non-khaleegis in the group. the star of the show and I can’t believe I am saying this either, but to be fair it was definitly Abdulrahman. Of course you might say he had the advantage. I agree, but he sang a great 6alal Madda7 song which is not too easy for any Saudi or a Khaleegi to accept it from anyone else. However, Abdulrahman performed it amazingly and flawlessly. I don’t want Abdulrahman to last to the final four or five, I don’t even care if he leaves next week… but it would absolutely be a shame to see him leave after last night’s GREAT performance.

10. 10 Unknown Jul 12th, 2004 at 5:50 pm

As Abood said, I believe that brigete did a very good job last night, even though i am not her fan. Hadi was fine. But Mohannad who is one of my favourites, housam, and ammar didn’t sound that great to me. Abir was kinda on the average, but we have to remember that she didnt train for the song like the others. Abd was very good.
I think it’s unfair to make them sing khaleeji songs. I mean as when of u said most of them when the superstar is over, they won’t sing khaleeji, so would we make them sing khaleeji. It was clear they weren’t interested in the khaleeji thing, because when they were singing the medley for nawal, we saw maybe 4 of them reading of the paper.
Thanks for reading people!

11. 11 Ahmad Jul 12th, 2004 at 5:51 pm

Peace for all,
Yeterday’s episode was not easy at all. I think the top 2 were Ammar and Hussam. maybe Ammar didn’t sing it as beautiful as the great AbdulRab Idrees did, but still I think he did great, and so did Hussam. Abeer and Muhannad performances were not as good.yet I still believe they should be within the top fours. Don’t blame them,it’s not easy to sing in a different accent. I have to admit that I liked the performance of Ranim.
I expect Hadi And AbdulRa7man to leave. Briggite and Muhannad to be in danger. Please give some support to Abeer and Muhannad (assuming that Ammar and Hussam are still in the safe zone). that’s if you believe in their talent and want to see a great finals.
Peace

12. 12 Ahmad Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:06 pm

Salam,
The worst voting episode I’ve seen so far, Muhannad, Abeer, Hussam in danger!!!!!Bridgete, and Hadi and Ayman are in the safe zone!!!what’s going on? are the teenagers controlling the voting or what? Unfortunately Abeer left:(

13. 13 Firas Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:11 pm

Peace …
This is the most ridiculous thing Icould’ve imagined to see in this show ..a very heavy doze …three of the great quartet in the danger zone at the same time !!!!!!!! :( (((((((( why ??? and Brigitte, Hady, and cool “Ayman” stay in the safe .. I am not sure who should be super star but I am very sure of one thing … this show is not going the right direction. Wish all the success to Abeer and Abdul Rahman.

Peace and love to all!

14. 14 UnKnown Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:14 pm

It’s the biggest dissappointment in my life ever… Abir leaving superstar!!!!! Wawwww, what kind of listeners are voting?! I don’t know what else to say, but I just want to say that the voting rules in super star sucks. Thats what happens when we let teenagers and stupid people vote. The rule should be 50% people, and 50% elias, fadai, and 3abdallah. I don’t know if I am gonna be able to watch superstar after today, but plz guys, from now on don’t vote based on nationality. That’s what mainly is going on.

15. 15 UnKnown Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:16 pm

Ummmm, I don’t know. Honestly, this voting thing should change soon, and the Future TV should understand that what is going on is very stupid and ridiculous.
Peace to all

16. 16 dude Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:19 pm

Wow…wow…all I can say is that hopefully Abir will continue to pursue her dream of making music and that now she finally has time to be with her father. I never expected her to win Superstar but I definitely could never imagine her losing before Ranim (who gets all the votes for his nationality) and Brigitte. To all who watch the show: don’t let talent like this slip away. Peace out- Dude

17. 17 Aman Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:23 pm

Last nights’ episode was disappointing. I’m not a fan of the khaleeji music lol. I thought Muhanned, Houssam, Hady and Ayman were the best ones. Despite what everyone said, I thought Hady did great and I was disappointed with Abir. The voting today was ridiculous. Besides AbdelRahman getting voted off…it’s about time!….I was shocked by Abir getting voted off and that both Mohanned and Houssam were in danger…wow! People have to start really thinking when they vote..this is ridiculous!

18. 18 Aman Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:27 pm

Guys, everyone must realize that despite our difference in opinions….Superstar voting is getting ridiculous. Mohanned and Houssam were almost voted off and Abir was! I also HATE with a passion how presidents and politicians have to be mentioned. I was soooooooo turned off when Ammar said he spoke to Yasser Arafat about this, that is sooo lame and sad. Does everything in the Arab world have to lead to politics? I wish I could just see Ammar in the danger zone once, soo overrated. I think his performance was less than mediocore. And I really wish people would stop voting for their favorite countries. I feel like Lebanese people will NEVER vote for Syrians cuz they hate them. When I was in Lebanon last summer, everyone was saying that they hope Diana wins just so they can see Syria lose…that’s ridiculous. Please vote for the better person and let’s not repeat what happened last year.

19. 19 UnKnown Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:32 pm

It’s not only about lebanese Aman, every single country is doing the same. Don’t Imagine that the Palestinians and Jordanians would vote for someone other than Ammar. That’s why he is never in danger zone. Same for Ayman, and Ranim. The point is almost 90% of the people are voting for the people from their country. I am Lebanese and I voted many times for Mohannad.

20. 20 dude Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:33 pm

I agree 100%, Aman

21. 21 Aman Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:39 pm

Thanks dude! That is true though, as amazing as everyone thinks Ammar is ( I really don’t know why) people cannot deny that the only reason he has never been in danger is because all of Jordan and Palestine are voting for him. So as much as I hate to say this and don’t want to see this, I can guarantee and promise everyone that Ammar will be the next superstar. Just wait lol. Everyone does support their country, but do it when it’s fair, I was upset Abir was voted off and I’m syrian and it’s nice to hear that a Lebanese person voted for Muhanned. This is all just giving me flashbacks of being in Lebanon last summer during Superstar Final episode.

22. 22 syria123 Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:44 pm

Aman, i dont know why you are so hard in Ammar, he is going to be the Arab super Star, you like it or not, look i live in the state, and he is the only one, that almost all Arabs, from every where vote for him, Abeer, i was expecting here to leave weeks a way, i know she have a nice voice, but she dont have so many fans, Hussam have a good voice but he too have many people who hate him, Now Muhannad, will be leaving soon, many people dont like him sine he sang 3aloush, and Kum eukaf winta bitkalmni, but he gained some fans with 3loush song, my nephow of 3 years. Ammar is Super Star, peace

23. 23 ghada Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:46 pm

Dear All..
After watching the khaliji episode yesterday,we have to be honest with ourselves. Thank to all of the contestants who tried to sing the khaliji accent,it wasn’t easy, especially to the lovely Abir who chose the wrong song and barely rehearsed. I believe that Muhannad was much better than hussam and Ammar this time. I admit, even though i like Ammar’s strong voice, but i really agree with my dear Abbood that the song was ruined, because nobody can sing it like abdelrab idriss. I don’t care about the rest like ayman or hadi or whoever, we really should be honest this time, i believe they are just normal with respect and love to all their fans. I liked abdelrahman’s looks this time, he was very cute and the khaliji outfit was nice and his performance was also great compared to the previous episodes.
I am just so sad, to see Abir leaving, i agree with “unknown” i don’t know what people are listening to..her voice is just a healer. I couldn’t stand her crying..i felt her tears where so precious. I love her and will miss her, hope that she will continue on..it was a terrible shock seeing Muhannad again in danger and abed leave…while hadi, ayman, brig and ranim are sitting there! God forgive me..but i guess voting is just being unfair..
I am glad that Muhannad is back, at least one good is back…i wish now that muhannad and Ammar will make it to the finals, but i hope that Ammar won’t sing again for abdelrab idriss..he will for sure drop out.
Right Abbood? :)

24. 24 ghada Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:51 pm

AMAN my dear..
I am sorry to read what u wrote here. I disagree with you about what u said. Many Lebanese people here i know voted for hussam M. and Muhannad more than they did for brig and Abir. Also many lebanese they like Ammar and vote for him, so pls don’t generalize. Many lebanese voted for Abdelrahman and they liked him..anyway, i am a lebanese, i love Abir, muhannad and sure Ammar. Peace.

25. 25 ghada Jul 12th, 2004 at 8:54 pm

ABBOOD..remember what I told you? ……all mentioned here by our dear critics …..exactly..right?

26. 26 ghada Jul 12th, 2004 at 9:06 pm

Dear Aman, by the way..about the comment of Ammar talking to Yasser Arafat..when was that? I didn’t hear that but if that was true then we are on the safe side lol..wow..it seems maybe that will be the beginning to free Palestine..and maybe ” Ariel Sharon” will get so impressed and leave Al Quds inshallah. I agree with u..maybe u are right about the politic part..i just want to say guys let us wake up..let us keep the hateredness out of our hearts..we need love and peace, even though our rulers can’t provide it for us.

27. 27 Calabala Jul 12th, 2004 at 9:08 pm

Peace all,
I’ve watched yesterday’s episode of Super Star, as well as the voting episode, however, I would like to comment on the Prime first.
Admitting that I’m not a fan of Khaleji music, as many of you mentioned before me, I think that there wouldn’t be as much voting as the other there were on the previous ones. I think that many, if not all, of the contestants were struggling and certainly did not like the fact that they will be singing Khaleji, of course with the exception of Abdulrahman. This was very obvious on their performances. Starting with Muhannad, he sang O.K., however, we all know that he did waaaaaay better on the previous episodes, in addition, I really love the song “Mahma Jara” that he sang but with “3etha Al-Menhaly” singing it because I believe no one can sing it as beautiful as he does. His choice was not that successful!!!
Abeer comes next, I totally understand that she did not have as much time to practice as the other contestants, however, I think that she was average. The only thing that I think she could have done to sing the song in a better way is to change the tone she used from her “Opera” tone, to her normal tone, I think that way the song could have sounded better. She also could have chosen another song, and I beleive thats what she should have done!!
Now, Abdulrahman. I have to admit that this time was the best time I’ve heard Abdulrahman singing … Man, he was amazing, and he was much more confident as well. I also think that his choice was awesome by singing “Ter7al”.
(Clap Clap Clap)—> Great job Abd.
Hussam sang a great song for “Fannan El3arab Mohammed 3abdo”, however, I don’t think that the person who was singing that song was the Hussam Madaniya we all know—> he could have done waaaay better, and after I lestined to him, I just hoped that he wouldn’t be in the danger zone, which really what happened.
Ammar… Oh well, he choose a beautiful song, a very beautiful song that I’m really fond of, but he sang it with no feelings at all, AT ALLLLLLL. He was just depending on his talent but he did not feel how beautiful the words and music of this song are, OH GOD :( :( … If he just had a little bit of feelings added to the way he sang it, it would have been awesome. Or he could have chosen another song that does not require as much feelings.
Brigitte sang beautifully this time, actually, I think she did better than all the previous episodes. She actually made the right choice by choosing this song cuz it totally fits her voice. Her accent was one of the best as well.
(Clap Clap Clap)—> Well done Brigitte.
Ranim sang well this time as well, and I consider it to be one of the best times for him, although his accent wasn’t that great, but his performance covered up for that, and definately, he was successful in his choice of this song.
Ayman Ela3tar also sang well, although he chose a tuff song, but he did well and he sounds good when singing Khaleji.
Hadi was a big surprise and a big shock at the same time. His performance was really surprising, he sang very well and chose the right song, but his accent was shocking—> not even a single word right!!!!!!! He could have done better with the accent, and I believe he could have surprised us even more with the performance.
I think my comment is getting longer and boring so I’m gonna stop here and continue on to comment on the voting later
Best Regards :) ;)

28. 28 Calabala Jul 12th, 2004 at 9:34 pm

OOOOOPS, I apologize for my typing errors :S :S

29. 29 Firas Jul 12th, 2004 at 9:46 pm

Peace Aman and all …
Just wanted to add on what Ghada said .. do not generalize .. if u haven’t guessed it by now I am a Palestinian my self ..yet all my votes for this week went to Abeer .. frankly I usually vote for the trio but for some reason I felt they should be safe but I guess I was wrong. Despite the fact that I believe that Ammar and Hussam has much stronger voices than Muhannad, yet I kept voting for him (except this time) believing he provides a balance in being able to sing in several styles, while Hussam and Ammar despite thier amazing talents are sort of limited to the shami style (jabali, mawaweel, etc.) … I don’t think it is in anyone’s interest to over-nationalize this thing … but from the way things are going ..wait to see Raneem and Ayman as the finalists :( .. I have a strong feeling the Muhannad is next on the row .. hopefully enough people will wake up to save him and save all the best voices to last. And yes … I don’t believe Ammar is overrated … he gets many voted just for the fact of being Palestinian ..can’t deny it … but again … Mohammad Lafi was Palestinian … but lacked the talent Ammar has ..and couldn’t go too far .. so please take it easy on Ammar guys … ok I am out of ink ;) peace

30. 30 Calabala Jul 12th, 2004 at 10:09 pm

By the way, I just want you, my dear critics, to think about something —> Who sells the most CD’s in the “Music Market”, and whose CD is the most wanted???
I think that the answer is very obvious —> Amr Diab and Shereen A7mad “A.K.A. Shereen Ah Ya Leil”. And you know what, not only teenagers are the ones who listen to them, but also adults and some elders!!!! Sorry, but this is the truth, whether you like it or not, and in order to change it, we don’t need only one or two or three super stars, we need tens of them. But keep in mind that they should be as smart as Amr or Shereen and sing EVERYTHING, to make a balance and to make sure that no one will be mad or won’t buy their CD!!
I hope this gave you an insight of why Hadi, Ayman, and Brigitte are still there while Wa3d, Yasmeen, and Abeer are out!!!

31. 31 Calabala Jul 12th, 2004 at 10:24 pm

With all my respect to your opinion dude, It is true that Ranim is Egyptian, and of course Egyptians ar well respected in the Arab world. However, this cannot be the only reason that makes keeps Ranim there until now. I don’t know if you have watched Star Academy or not, but our Egyptian fellow, Mohammed Atiya won it all, but guess what … Egyptians do not like him and rarely voted for him. Also, they consider him to be a shame!!!
I am Egyptian, and of course I love Egypt, however, I do not think that Ranim is a shame for Egypt, and I do not think that Ranim is that bad, and also not the best, but definately he is not that bad, or even not as bad as Mustafa Shewiekh was, that you would wish he gets kicked off so badly.

33. 33 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 12:20 am

Syria123….I don’t know why you are so hard on Mohanned lol, you say I am hard on Ammar yet you hate Mohanned and keep saying he is going to get kicked off..why!!! I live in the states too and everyone around me loves Mohanned and thinks Ammar is overrated, so you can’t act like you know everyone who is voting in America cuz you live there lol. And if you read my comment, I admit that despite the fact that he does not deserve it AT ALL, i am 100% sure that Ammar will be the next Superstar unfortunately, so for people who don’t watch that, save yourselves the time and stop watching. Oh and NO OFFENSE TO LEBANESE PPL, I was just using my example of going to Lebanon and how everyone was really hating on the Syrians and wanting Ruwaida to lose just because of that. It was just the only example I had to prove that nationality really affects voting. Thanks!!!!

34. 34 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 12:40 am

Hey all! If any of you want to hear any of the songs the contestants sang from the beginning up until now can go to http://www.idolonline.org/music11a.htm

I know this website has a lot of them, but incase there are any you can’t find, this website has them all, it’s really good!

Aman

35. 35 syria123 Jul 13th, 2004 at 12:49 am

Dear Aman, i never said that i hate him or he is overrated ,i dont like him yes. and about thinking that he will leave very soon this is my opinion only. i was shocked to see Hussam almost kicked out, but this is the game, so take it easy. the best three voices are
Ammar Hussam and Muhannad, but I think that Muhannad will leave sooner, peace

36. 36 Rami Jul 13th, 2004 at 3:41 am

i agree with u aman…i am syrian and i live in UAE…last year we watched superstar finals in a coffee shop…the last episode and the results episode…in the two days some lebanese guys were sitting near us and that was the first time they watch superstar…they asked us about the nationalitis of the candidates…and they voted for diana…believe me guys they were dancing when rowaida sang sabah’s songs but they voted for diana…but as u guys said before, don’t generalize…my favorite is mohannad but that’s not becoz of his nationality, he’s really talented and unique… i am the owner of his group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Mohannad_Mchallah but i think i am the only syrian member there…
i also think that ammar will be the superstar but mohannad deserves that more than him…no one can sing emta el zaman or khamrat el hob(my favorite song) like mohannad except abdulwahab and sabah fakhri :P but i think he’ll leave soon coz he’s syrian…i wish he sings one of om kolthom’s great songs or najat el saghira or farid el atrash

37. 37 kitkat Jul 13th, 2004 at 3:42 am

Hi all… i watched the Prime and let’s just say it wasn’t my favorite b/c i’m not a huge fan of khaleeji.
The results were surprising…. i mean honestly i never expected hussam AND mohannad to both be in the danger zone at the same time. i mean true i believe that mohannad sang a lot better than hussam but people need to stop vote based on one prime… b/c like many of you already said most of these people are not going to be singing khaleeji after that Prime anyways.
I must say that i have to agree with Calabala on what he said about ranim… i’m not egyptian but i still vote for ranim because i believe he has a beautiful voice and honestly he’s not the best but he’s not all that bad and i don’t understand why everyone wants him to leave so bad.

38. 38 niveen Jul 13th, 2004 at 4:28 am

Aman,
If you dont like a palestenian contestant, you should not start generalizing that all palestenians and Jordanians vote for him just bcz of his nationality. you dont like Ammar, others maybe like him. you cant force people to like someone if you dont as well as we cant force to like or to hate someone

39. 39 niveen Jul 13th, 2004 at 4:31 am

i mean we cant force you to hate someone if we dont like him. and please stop this tone of everyone hate Syrians. are you trying to grow hatred here and thats the last thing we need as 3arab. there is no need to mess up things even worse

40. 40 ghada Jul 13th, 2004 at 5:55 am

dear Niveen and Aman..and all..pls guys, nobody here should use the word ‘hate’, we all have different tastes and points of view, so we can’t all do it the same, but we have to really focus on the real talents, not the accent, not the song. Syria 123 and Roba, i respect ur opinion about muhannad, i didn’t like him in the beginning, i admit i was madly so interested in Abir and Ammar, and still, but i just focused on muhannad’s great voice when he sang “terghali” and “khamrat el 7ob”..wow..it was amazing to know how great he can sing all kinds of music. About “3aloush and 2om 2o2af” i think they weren’t bad as u guys are saying, but i am sure he could have chosen better ones..nobody can deny how successful 3alosh song was in the last couple of months in the market. Anyway..there is nothing as bad as ..losing ABIR…i am still shocked and sad..
Aman if u think that Ammar is overrated, maybe it is obvious that u haven’t noticed how EXTRA overrated was Rouweida last year and i believe she is still..but no comment..i admit she has a strong voice but i believe that Ammar if he wasn’t Palestinian ans was a lebanese or syrian or egyptian and he sang “yabni” and “3ala babi wa2ef amarein” i am sure he would have all the votes like now. Calabala i agree totally with u that this time Ammar sang the wonderful leila song without feelings, like Abbood said it was close to a national song :) but let us wait and see the next surprise..GOD KNOWS who will be out..hope that Muhannad will stay…!

41. 41 ghada Jul 13th, 2004 at 6:10 am

Oh Calabala and kitkat(my fave chocolate)..by the way..i respect your points,Ranim isn’t bad really, he has a good voice, but it is average, it is not strong enough, still he can be good. But dear..did u imagine the big shock..that ABIR,Zahi safiyeh,Yasmine(leaves before mustafa and ranim!) i listened to her song last night, and hussam shami..leave us..before ranim? just to be fair…it just reminded me of Wael mansour last year staying there and singing “retha Allah w ratheinak!!!!!!”big disaster for talal salamah..anyway..like i said GOD KNOWS what is the surprise other than the guarantee of Aman that Ammar is the superstar lol :)

42. 42 Abu Farweh Jul 13th, 2004 at 6:14 am

My fellow critics, what is going on in here? Are we going to jump in each other throats over this please this is becoming ridiculous. Vote for whomever you like, when these people become famous artists buy the album of the one you like most, simple.

The voting episode was disappointing to say the least, three of the best four voices were in the danger zone. I think these spin offs that the show is going through has just ruined it. Why a “Khaleeji” night, why an “2oughnieh sha3bieh” night, what’s next a “Lady’s night” on Thursday with free admissions and half off on drink specials, this is becoming ridiculous.

Two comments; first one related to President Arafat, it was Rania the show host that brought up the issue, it wasn’t Ammar braging. If you noted Ammar thanked everyone that votes for him. My second comment relates to the nationality issue, I’m a Palestinian and of course I’m a firm believer of Ammar’s exceptional talent however I also said frequently that I like very much Mohannad, Houssam M. and Abeer. Many of my friends here in Jerusalem love Mohannad and support him. Another friend of mine votes only for Abeer. Others can’t stand Ammar and vote for Houssam M. The point is at least these four, in the opinion of the panel of judges and many others around the world they are very very talented.

A final note, how many of you, being true to yourselves, lash out at Ammar only because he is a Palestinian! I believe that Ammar’s nationality could and is working against him. Keep nationality out of it please, the guy is very talented so is Abeer, Mohannad and Houssam M. and the rest with a certain degree of variation.

Abu Farweh - Good Day.

43. 43 Abbood Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:36 am

I wonder why nobody here talks about super mahdoom! The dancing guy and the other dude who has a farid voice are hillarious. Almost as funny as seeing Abir and Abdulrahman leave on the same night. From now on, I am a super mahdoom fan and voter only :-)

The results this week proved that the performance of the participant does not effect the results the following night. In other words, it doesn’t matter wether they sing well, screw up, or even not sing at all. I guess even if Ammar and Hussam do not sing at all, MMM will still say that they were the best :-) Hence, they will still get the same votes. Anyway, I guess the attitude will change now. Just watch how things will turn out in the remaining 6 weeks or so, and wait until your favorite singer’s album comes out. This is the end of it… Superstar without Abir and the blog is without Zlatkot… just redicilous :-(

44. 44 MMM Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:58 am

Hi Abbood,

Well not to that extent really, lol.
I mean there are weeks in which Housam Madaniyyah was not among my faves after an episode.

I do not pick my faves because they’re predefined, I truly pick the performances I enjoy most. And honestly I’ve enjoyed almost every single performance by Ammar, Muhannad and Housam.
With Abeer gone, this trio should make it to the end.

But they’re not the only ones on my episode faves list, you’ll also find performances from other people ranging from Abeer to Hadi Aswad even.

And I don’t really think who I say is my fave really affects the results.
People have their own faves and they vote for who they like.

I just wish they vote for who really is best and not for who is sexiest or who is from their same country.

45. 45 dude Jul 13th, 2004 at 2:51 pm

Calabala…I admit now that I got a little carried away in my distaste for Ranim. I mean, I never liked his voice, but I shouldn’t have gone so far as to say that the only votes he got were from Egypt. I do have a lot of respect for Egyptians, but when I see some Egyptians rallying their countrymen to vote for a guy just because he is from Egyot, that upsets me. I hope you accept my apology and understand why I got carried away. Thanks, and keep posting- Dude

P.S. By the way, did the Australians ever get their dish back? If so let us know.

46. 46 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 3:53 pm

Hey all! I can see Abu Farweh’s point and I will say that I in NO WAY lash out on Ammar because he is Palestinian. I love Palestine and the people of Palestine, I don’t think anyone has gone to more rallies and been a bigger advocater for them than me. I just truly believe that he gets a lot more attention and praise than he deserves. I mean he is the only one that has never been in danger while Mohanned has been in danger twice. With the way the voting is going, I really think Mohanned is going to leave very soon unfortunately, and yes Ghada just wait lol, Ammar will be the superstar lol.

47. 47 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 4:11 pm

And about the Yasser Arafat comment, I’m not blaming Ammar, it’s not his fault. I was just saying that it ruins the show when they have mention presidents, it’s sooo lame and shows how pathetic the Arab world can be. I am not saing it was true, but I heard so many rumors that Diana only won because King Abdulllah made the entire army vote. Of course this can be a total lie, but the fact that rumors like this come out shows how sad we are as a community, let things be fair!

48. 48 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 4:17 pm

Hey guys…please don’t be mad, I know I write too much lol. I am not doing a pity fest for the Syrians lol, but even another Syrian here sees my point, that was the fact of the matter last year. Many people vote for Diana because they didn’t want a Syrian. Inshallah people vote here for the right reasons, but I honestly do think that with the way the voting is going, Mohanned and Houssam will not be in the final 3 or 4….but if that’s what the people want, it’s all good. And for people talking about Ranim, I like him too…he has a nice presence on the stage.

49. 49 dude Jul 13th, 2004 at 4:40 pm

Aman…what I heard was that King Abdullah made the voting lines in Jordan free so that people could vote for Diana without paying a dime, whereas in Syria each vot cost 25 lira(equal to 50 cents). I never heard about the Army rumor. Peace out- Dude

50. 50 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 4:44 pm

Hey dude! Thanks…well either way there was some sort of rumor lol. Did everyone see Abir and AbdelRahman interviewed today. Wow Abir sang so beautifully, it really sucks to see her go. And I have a no found respect for AbdelRahman. he was such a good sport and gracious about getting kicked off. And he sing so many wattani songs which I respect soo much!

51. 51 Ahmad Jul 13th, 2004 at 5:20 pm

Peace for all,
If you guys listened to Abeer and AbdulRa7man on their interview you’ll get really mad,not only for great Abeer (A great corner of the great top quartet) but also for AbdulRahman. Although he doesn’t have the experience and the power of the Quartet, but he might have been the best of the rest of candidates.
If you allow me to suggest something for people who believe in the Trio (AMMAR,HUSSAM,MUHANNAD)like Firas,Ghada,AbuFarweh and many others, if we can make our votes in the next couple of weeks to both Muhannad and Hussam since they are in danger. I don’t like to see Ammar competing with Ayman or Bridgette (with respect!). I’d rather see Ammar loosing the title (God not willing;) for Hussam or Muhannad (they deserve it too!)rather than seeing him winning the title over any of the rest of the candidates.
Dear Aman, don’t blame the Palestinians and Jordanians for voting for Ammar. It’s normal to support your national candidate especially if he’s talented. it’s wrong when he’s not talented. Now you think he’s overrated.well, can’t you at least put him like third on your top list.
Anyways I think we need to break the siege forced on us from Rotana and such corporates to change our taste in music
Take care
Peace and Love

52. 52 ghada Jul 13th, 2004 at 6:43 pm

Aman i believe you should write more :o ) it is getting interesting here :o ) My dear Aman it is not just about Syrian, syrians are great and myself i love halabi people and people from tartous i have many friends, ya Allah, i believe Rouweida was a bit arrogant, sorry, but diana honestly was cuter, and roweida had the voice but she lacked the friendly face and character of diana. Maybe now she is getting a bit better..got me ya Aman?,, Ahmad..wow..imagine Ammar or muhannad or hussam competing with hadi and brig and ayman with respect and love to their fans..oh my God that will be funny and not even worth to watch or even vote!In this case, my dear Abbood will be happy cos that will be the REAL supermahdoom and there won’t be a superstar title :o )
I will be sad if muhannad won’t be in the final four for sure. LOL Aman and dude , nice to hear about last year’s voting for diana :o ) especially about the army :o ) i guess our rulers also need some good music to base their super plans for us :o )(music and argilah) LOL I was wondering also if their wives were also supporting the same star :o ) or they might have a different taste, LOL. God forgive me for this :o )
Anyway,Aman sleep in heavenly peace, the members of Ammar’s website are around 215 people excluding millions and trillions outside :o ) i don’t know how many in muhannad’s and hussam’s. I won’t be able guys to see superstar extra tomorrow, so plz don’t forget to comment and tell me more ok?
Ahmad, i will sure vote for muhannad next week,he deserves to stay, im sure Ammar will be safe cos i truly believe in Aman’s guarantee lol. Abbood who’s ur fave supermahdoom, the dancing guy? lol i will vote for him just for you :o )
Abir is just amazing, she was so sweet today and abdelrahman proved that he is a respectful person (ta7iyya li ahel el Sa3oodiya) esp. Abbood ;o)
Aman don’t forget to comment :o )
I was wondering where is Sophie, i wonder if she is ok after seeing hussam in the danger zone, we miss her triple messages :o )
Peace all

53. 53 dude Jul 13th, 2004 at 6:44 pm

i’m with ahmad on this. let’s all vote for muhannad and hussam.

54. 54 Ahmad Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:08 pm

Peace,
Thanks Ghada and Dude. Did you hear that Shireen is gonna be the guest for next week, why?:( with my respect to her fans. Is that a requirement to bring such guests,or are we out of great Legends to be guests (Magida AlRoumi,Sonia M’Barek, Sabah Fakhri,Marcel Khalifeh..)oopps wake up Ahmad, they don’t have the gutts to bring such a great person like Marcel and do a national song day, would they?! No they wouldn’t,maybe they will bring Sha3ban AbdelRaheem instead:)
Peace,Love, and Freedom!

55. 55 Aman Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:09 pm

Ghada…thanks a lot for the encouragement lol..haha. I was starting to get annoyed by my amount of comments…glad someone appreciates them lol. I am totally with Dude and everyone else, we must keep Houssam and Mohanned in the game…..if Ammar is going to win it, at least keep competition fair and not have Ayman or Bridgette in the end. All my votes are going to Houssam and Mohanned! Inshallah they are never in danger again!!!

56. 56 Ahmad Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:18 pm

Peace,
My Mom just called me telling me that there was an ad on Future that Great Ahmad Qa3bour is back on stage I don’t know when or what time,is there anybody who has any information?
Thanks

57. 57 ghada Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:22 pm

oh..ABU FARWEH..i was reading your comment. Viva Palestine, walaw, into betmoono, AL QUDSO LANA WAL BAYTO LANA. I am sure that Aman didn’t mean to make all this, but already did :o ) Abu Farweh, we are with u :o ) ya3ni it is either Ammar, muhannad and hussam(The last sorry) ..will be the 3 ok? so ma tez3al. ;O)
And, also let us support ABBOOD’S supermahdoom :o ) don’t forget. Aman since u r commenting im here every few hours lol lol lol
keep it up :o ) lol
Ahmad i agree i wish if they asked Majida and Marcel kahlifa..wow..but yep..we r just dreaming.
At least they made it with Wadi3 Al safi.Thank God.

58. 58 ghada Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:28 pm

Ahmad by the way, sha3ban 3abdelrahim needs a praise..know why? at least he doesn’t know how to read and write, but had the courage to sing..” ana bakrah israeil w ba7eb 3amro moosa” lol and he said” ya 3ami 3arabi inta, w emta nawyeen tet7arako?” lol..so emta nawyeen inshallah? lol Peace

59. 59 Ahmad Jul 13th, 2004 at 7:39 pm

7abbatal elsagyer w abda asheel 7adeed:)lol
some say Sha3ban 3abdelra7eem is one of the signs of the judjment day being close:)lol
when our people taste is going doowwwwn even in political song it’s a shame. I wonder why the Media covers Sha3ban more than Iman Elba7ar Darweesh, the great talent who’s grandfather is the Legend Sayed Darweesh. Because he decided to be more commited to his nation in his songs!
Peace

60. 60 Calabala Jul 13th, 2004 at 8:01 pm

Peace all,
Dude, I really don’t need and apology from you cuz I’m not mad at you, so don’t worry about it :) ;) :D
Ghada, please, I know you said that Ranim is talented, but please, the way you tried to explain your point of view might hurt some of his fans, and it hurted me not cuz I’m his fan (although I’m not) but cuz he is a countryman. So please, take care next time.
Best Regards

61. 61 Calabala Jul 13th, 2004 at 8:03 pm

And by the way, I think the reason Shereen is there cuz its a modern song “Oghnia 7adeetha” day. I don’t think that Magida would fit there LOL :) ;) :D

62. 62 ghada Jul 13th, 2004 at 8:15 pm

ooops CALABALA..me hurting you, i am the last here to hurt anyone :o ( sorry, sure i didn’t mean what you felt :o ( i was just saying that ranim is good but there were voices who left before him and were obviously much better. 3ala rasna ya calabala el masreyeen w kol 7abayebna el3arab. :o ) but..sorry calabala..i never liked wael mansour..sorry.. i understand you though :o ) peace

63. 63 dude Jul 13th, 2004 at 8:48 pm

hey all: I just sent an email to one of the superstar contestants. Does anyone know if they respond to these emails?

64. 64 Lylani Jul 14th, 2004 at 12:08 am

Im soo glad to hear so many are going to vote for Muhannad and Hussam :::)))) .. i have all my emails lined up and ready for voting ;) ..
i know this sounds really stupid to ask now .. but when u vote is it supposed to give you: “??????” message box.. ?? heh heh ..i hope i havent been doing something wrong all this time
:(
It appears that all the smart people come to this site.. :) ..thank God i found u .. or i would think the whole world was losers
& i want to say to anyone who has been voting for the supposed “cute ones” because u like their looks SHAME ON YOU !! & i hope that if our precious boys lose b/c of u (God forbid)..that i can reach through this screen and smack u.. & your mama

65. 65 kitkat Jul 14th, 2004 at 2:52 am

hi everyone,
i’ve noticed that a lot of people on this blog have been talking about what the contestants look like and that some think that people only vote for certain contestants b/c of their looks…. i’ve noticed that all the contestants are somewhat good looking or to say the least are not ugly so i don’t see why everyone’s making a big deal about how they look. i mean true that some are better looking than others but that’s not all that they have b/c if they weren’t talented they wouldn’t have even made it to the 3rd round. we need to give these people some more credit than what we already do b/c they are ALL very talented.

66. 66 Abbood Jul 14th, 2004 at 7:33 am

Dude— don’t put high hopes, they never reply.

Ghada, I voted for both the dancing dude and the Farid wanna be. You know, the Farid wanna be doesn’t sound too bad after you listen to him for like 20-30 times. He is like many singers today, you think they are bad when you first listen to them, then your ear gets used to their ugly voices. I don’t think he sounds worse than Eihab Tawfiq or George Wassuf for example. Yet, they are famous and popular and he is not. Poor guy :-(

Ghada, did someone really say that you are a cause of pain to others or was I imagining??? This guy can’t be serious :-)

Don’t count me in for the set votes to any of the remaining singers. To be honest with you, I would rather see Brigget and Hadi in the final now to prove that there is something wrong in the current voting system. Otherwise, they will never do anything to improve it. I don’t really think it should be 100% fans nor 100% based on the three judges.

I actually prefer the method used in other shows where the judges select who should be in the danger zone based on their performances and then people vote. I think this is more fair and will lead to better results. At least this way we will know what the judges REALLY think of the contestants. What do you guys think? Should we write an official proposal with this idea?

67. 67 Oceanyes Jul 14th, 2004 at 7:47 am

Hello everybody,,
This is the 1st time i participate with u,,i usually read ur opinions..
Well,,well,,i read all the published opinions and i do agree with some..
By the way,,it wasn’t fair for Abir to leave the contest,,she should have stayed till the 4th position..i guess Hussam should have left instead..or maybe Brigitte should have been chosen to be in the danger zone atleast..i guess the ranking will be:

7. Ayman
6. Brigitte
5. Hadi - although i like him and wish he will continue till the 3rd position atleast
4. Hussam
3. Ranim
2. Muhannad
1. Ammar
Well i guess 1st & 2nd ranks will be between Ammar and Muhannad..

I wish i’m not mistaken..Any comments??:)

68. 68 ghada Jul 14th, 2004 at 12:14 pm

I completely agree with you dear Abbood, i like the idea too of the judges using nominees based on the performances and then people vote, at least :o ) like the new programme hosting on New TV every thursday, i guess it is good as well, i noticed many good voices, like the girl”Sumaya” from tunis wow she is amazing, and the other guy from Jordan”mohammad”, they are great. And Aman, there is the guy from SYRIA(just for Aman :o )) his name is nawfal.LOL The results were actually really fair cos the judges put 50% of the total mark. I don’t know about this unfairness of voting for superstar..i still can’t believe a voice like Abir or even wa3d (regardless her attitude) are out like this. Got the feeling that the cute Muhannad is going to be out too :o ( ( just let’s hope not).
U know i liked the first supermahdoom though the “abu3awad” guy, with the 3ood and 7elwa w jamila song lol he is just so cool lol, i think he will win also, lol
I am just hoping that muhannad will get rights this time, wallah 7aram, great talent, i was sure after i heard “khamrat el7ob”, it was an amazing performance. Abbood, just let us watch and see :o ) at least for muhannad if not for the guaranreed Ammar ;o)(sure Aman won’t change the guarantee) lol
Oceaneyes…mmmm…ranim or hadi 3rd position? …well i pay u lots of respect and love, but…i guess to be fair, Ayman has a better voice than “hadi, brig and Ranim”, ya3ni i believe if he competes with the trio “Ammar, muhannad and husam” then it could be digestable :o ) or what do u say? ..
I believe i will be missing Abir eveytime i will watch the show and also the cute smile of Abdulrahman, he was so cute. :o ( i believe ranim is so nice but i guess a 5th position will be good :o )( hope calabala u don’t mind ) :o )

69. 69 Ahmad Jul 14th, 2004 at 4:00 pm

Peace for all,
Dear Abood, nice idea. Although I prefer to see our people have some kind of democracy and the ability to choose, maybe superstar is the only way to express it:) but maybe if the show turn to a radio show just listening to them and vote just based on the voice we’ll have better results:) oh,one more thing Do they have to say what country every contestant is from, why not just keep the nationality out, unless it’s part of the business because they want people to vote for their national hero!
Dear Oceaneys,Ranim has a nice voice I agree, and they all do have some degree of nice voice, but I think Hussam is way better ( just my opinion, don’t get mad) I think Hussam is better than Muhannad as well, although I like the idea that Muhannad can sing more than one style.
Good Luck for all

70. 70 Ahmad Jul 14th, 2004 at 4:14 pm

By the way, is there anybody who know what songs are they going to sing next week
some news about Ammar that he’s singing (Geet Bwa2taak) for Melhem Barakat, and (B7ebek w Bgar) for 3Assi 7ilaani. I like the first one. But maybe they are both not Ammar style. I think both Ammar and Hussam are going to have some trouble dealing with the new songs, unless they go with Tony Hanna or some other Melhem Barakat songs and such. Muhannad should be fine, right Aman?;) and the rest of the contestants..that’s their day, they’ve been waiting for it:)

71. 71 Aman Jul 14th, 2004 at 5:14 pm

Ahmad, I love that song by Melhem Barakat, I hope Ammar sings it. I HOPE that Mohanned will be ok, I think he is fantastic EVERY WEEK but people don’t think so yet apparently. And I am still a big advocator for the fact that we should all keep voting for Houssam and Mohanned, cuz yes Ghada I def still believe Ammar will win it all, even though that wouldn’t be my preference for the outcome. So at least let’s keep hearing these good voices as long as possible and keep the competition good. Do we really want to see Ayman or Bridigette competing with Ammar in the end?

72. 72 Syria123 Jul 14th, 2004 at 5:49 pm

Dear Iman, you keep assuring us that Ammar will win it all, do you believe that he will win because he have the Talent, or because he have a lot of fans, or BECAUSE HE IS MADD3OUM!!!!!!!!!! Please clarify your point because honestly you are getting in my nerve…….

73. 73 UnKnown Jul 14th, 2004 at 7:31 pm

Guys if u remember in the first 2 or 3 episodes of the third round, Elias Rahbani, and Abdallah kept telling contestants that people from there country should vote more for them. For example I remember one time Elias told MOhammed Dawood that people from Kuwait should vote more that they are, and should be proud of him and vote for him. It also happened with many other contestants, so why are we blaming people if they vote for the people from their country, if the three judges are asking people to do it this way. I don’t know if you guys remember this or if I am mistaken.

74. 74 Ahmad Jul 14th, 2004 at 7:35 pm

Yes I do remember that Unknown. I don’t think they care if Kuwaiti vote for Mohammad, Palestinians vote for Ammar, etc… They just want them to vote and make calls…money money money…that’s my opinion

75. 75 Calabala Jul 14th, 2004 at 8:07 pm

Peace all,
First of all, dear ghada, thank you sooo much for the respect and understanding you have showed (Ento kaman 3ala rasi ya sety :) ;) ), and I just want you to know that the point I was trying to make is that although you might not like someone, or I might not like someone, there are others who like them, and so we have to respect their feelings. But sure u r a sweet girl and I know for sure that you didn’t mean to hurt anyone :) :D
Another thing I wanna mention to everybody, and that is —> I AM A GIRL (not a guy as most of u think)
About the voting issue, I totally agree with you that it was soooooo unfair and shocking, not only because Abeer is out, but also because someone like Wa3d (although I believe that the main reason that kicked her out was her behaviour and attitudes) and Yasmeen. And yes, it is true, that if they changed it into, say the way Star Academy went, it would be much more fair. Even if each judge makes valid and good comments about the voice by mentioning the strengths and weaknesses of each contestant, rather than the ones that we have already memorized and heard since the beginning up until now (”You were awesome and hope that we’ll see u next Sunday” —> Whatever lol :) )
And you know what, its gonna get even worse and more shocking, just mark my words and you’ll see.
Anyways, I gotta to go now
Best Regards :) ;) :D

76. 76 King 7ashash Jul 14th, 2004 at 8:55 pm

Abu farweh, on behalf of every palestinian who dosent vote for ammar, I thank you!!!
I have voted for Mohannad all along, Mind you I was sold on ammar the minute I watched him sing ya ibny, but fair is fair, I also believe in Houssams talent but he tends to over do it… I guess my question to everyone is, why is Ammar getting the bad publicity on this post (on more than one ocassion) while others like Hadi, Brigette and Ayman tend to coast through the episodes.

I just finally read all the postings from yesterday ( time zone constraints…lol) but about the voting, they keep saying that all the contestants leave the show with a record contract in hand…so is the voting really that important!!! lets remember last years show, I think the most successfull out of all of them is mel7im zain, and he placed third, I heard hadi asawd has a Cd coming out soon, Wael mansoor has his own show, (that takes care of the top six from last year) i think one of the top 12 from last year is also in a group ( i saw the video the other day) so back to the voting, I agree with whoever said that, once this guy/gal has a cd out, buy it. Another thing about ammar, Mohammed lafi was a palestinian, but he wasnt half as succesfull as Amar is, mind you he did not have the powerfull voice ammar has…another quesiton, Do you think Superstar should dedicate an espsiode for patriotic songs?

My oh my … well ladies and gentlemen…my dear Ghada, Ahmad, Aman, Syria 123, Abboud, King Hashash, etc…. on the voting issue…I agree with the many opinions I have read over the past two days, in fact I said it before, I think it is unfair. The fate of an exceptional talent like Abir depended on little brats with mobile phones that think Hadi or Brigitte are the next best thing since Wonder Bread….LOOOOL. My favorite Super Mahdoom has to be Ayman A3tar, am I the only one getting sick of this HALBA word he keeps saying. Unfortunately such is the program and Future TV has to abide by the rules of the franchise.

On the other hand, a glimmer of hope may be further ahead, Future TV did promise to continue working with all the talented contestants, I hope they live up to their promise. Personally I am so anxious to see the likes of Yuri Mra2adi find different careers. Did you see his latest video clip, the guy must be on drugs because he thinks he is a male stripper…who the hell does he think he is….someone needs to smack him over the head, maybe he’ll wake up.

King Hashash…yeah man Mohannad Mishalla7 is one of my favorites and I can see him with Ammar and Madanieh having awesome careers. Abir I hope continues on to be the next Fayrouz.

Abu Farweh - Good Night

Hi all :o )
Abbood we miss u here :o ) well, CALABALA i knew you were a girl here :o ) cos u r so sweet too.
I watched a bit of superstar extra and everytime i get a better impression on muhannad’s nice personality. I liked the way he gets involved with the audience although he was singing 3aloush :o )ABSOLUTELY he shouldn’t leave us soon. And..God, it touched me when i heard that 3ammar visited the palestinian camps in lebanon, that is beautiful cos u guys don’t know these people really suffered a lot and i guess they need to be joyful for sometime.I went there many times and i know it isn’t easy to see them how they live..so i guess that was nice of him.
I agree with abufarweh..ayman is just getting on the nerve with the halba word and akalna hommus w tabouleh each time :o ) sorry to anyone who likes ayman here no offense :o )
I guess Ahmad the songs aren’t bad for 3ammar, esp the melhem barakat song cos it fits the voice, and sure Abbood will love them too
LOL :o )
SYRIA123 dear what is that mad3oom word? lol Aman u r in trouble LOL LOL guys take it easy :o )
King 7ashash, personally i fell for Ammar’s voice the moment he sang “yabni” actually the real name of the song is”sarkhit batal” and i said that this guy will win it all since the first round and moreover i like the way he is himself ya3ni i don’t like the way others jump up and down, but king 7ashash sure there is no comparision with moh’d lafi cos the guy had a poor voice. BUT, king7ashash people here for sure have a different pnt of view, and many are criticizing ayman, brig and hadi and i am one of them with respect to all their fans :o ) peace here

82. 82 ghada Jul 14th, 2004 at 10:09 pm

I couldn’t take it seeing dear Abir crying in supextra, i just felt that myself crying..even when she cries u can feel her talent!
By the way dear MMM thanx for this lovely page, we need this cos it is really fun and interesting. MMM what do u think about Ayman’s substitute of the word “barsha” to “halba” :o ) does it sound good? LOL anyway…im sure it doesn’t sound good as the tunisian wedding LOL :o )
Abu Farweh the yuri mra2adeh clip is classic LOL LOL so no comment LOL, i guess ruby’s new clip(respect to her fans) is even “classy-clear” LOL :o ) ooooops hope calabala u don’t mind :o )
MMM plz don’t be late by posting next week’s prime comments ok? :o ) thanx

83. 83 kitkat Jul 14th, 2004 at 10:16 pm

hi all… each time i read a comment madde by one of you i realize something new that i hadn’t paid attention to before. in answer to king 7ashash’s question if they should make a patriotic song episode… i think they should just to be fair b/c they made a khaleeji episode( which was supposed to be an advantage for abd but i guess that didn’t work out very well for him) and then now they’re having a modern song episode ( which will most prob. be an advantage to hadi, brig., ayman and ‘course mohannad although in my opinion he has the advantage all the time) so if they have a patriotic song night, the advantage will prob. be to ammar and hussam b/c of their strong voices which is fair. also i heard ayman(presenter) say once that they were going to have a night for the egyptian song which would present the obvious advantage to ranim. so yes if they’re going to have all these “themed” nights, then they should def. have patriotic night b/c would introduce us more to the backgroud of each of the contestants b/c each will prob. sing a patriotic song from his/her country.

84. 84 Ahmad Jul 14th, 2004 at 10:57 pm

Salam,
That would be great to have a national song day hosting Marcel Khalife, man that would be Ammar’s day and Hussam as well, I agree. But still I think it’s legally, politically econmically,..etc couldn’t happen:)
take care

85. 85 ghada Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:08 pm

yeah well dear kitkat and king7ash, it could be a nice idea to have the patriotic episode, but i guess might be a disadvantage for all the contestants..i believe it would be very sensitive to many. For example..there won’t be anyone singing for egypt or the gulf countries( not too many familiar patriotic songs available or well known by others), and i don’t know if people are familiar with any libyan or egyptian patriotic song, and for sure won’t be the national anthem..u know what i mean? like 3ammar and hussam and muhannad can sing songs that are in common for example for marcel khalife and wadi3 safi which are mainly for bilad al sham:lebanon/palestine/syria (ya mal el sham maybe is a song). So can be hard on others and i guess for watchers/listeners who are not shamis. Anyway..maybe i am wrong, just a point of view. :o ) i hope they all can sing “el 7elm el 3arabi” lovely….will be for all arabs :o ) peace

86. 86 dude Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:09 pm

How’s everyone doing? I actually like Yuri Mrakadi, Abu Farweh, but you’re right about the music video. About the types of episodes they should have, I think they should have a patriotic night and also a classical night. Maybe they can do them both in the same episode. By the way, who do you guys think will leave us next week? Keep posting and good night (wherever you may be). — Dude

87. 87 Firas Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:22 pm

The way voting is going I tend to believe Muhannad is next on the row :( (( Don’t forget 3 Syrians are here … unfortunately this will be a disadvantage for both Hussam and Muhannad … in a way taking votes from each other ..for Hady Allah ykhalli il sabaya il sghar .. whether from Syria or Lebanon it seems he is getting a good stake of the votes :( if the “Lebanese scenario” will repeat itself on Syria … the better and more experienced candidtates will leave before the younger, cuter … no offence to any Hady, Brigitte fans here ;) In short I feel it is either Muhannad or Hussam next … but I still have some hope we can do something? Suggestions??? Peace out ;)

88. 88 Aman Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:25 pm

Hi all! Syria123, do you spell my name wrong everytime on purpose to now get on my nerves lol. It’s Aman not Iman. Actually a lot of people agree with me here that Ammar will almost def be the next superstar. Why is it that other ppl can say it and not me lol…I always get in trouble by Syria123 for my opinions. I think Ammar will win because he seems to have the most fans…I personally don’t think he is the most talented..I would put him as number 3 in my list, but I def think he will win because he seems to have a large fan base…especially because he’s never been in danger of getting kicked off. No need to be so mean all the time…take it easy Syria123 lool. Take care all :)

89. 89 syria123 Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:28 pm

thank you for calrify your point Iman, i mean Aman LOL, take care peace

90. 90 Aman Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:31 pm

Hello again :) Someone here said that all the contestants would have a record deal..is that true??? How many by all, all 17…just the final 10…what? Because that would def make me feel better, especially when an amazing voice like Waed was kicked off much toooo soooon.

91. 91 syria123 Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:39 pm

all the 17 will have contracts to record a CD.

92. 92 Firas Jul 14th, 2004 at 11:40 pm

All the finalists .. 17 this year and 12 from last year … ya3ni very soon when u visit a cd shop u will see nothing but super star cd’s lol

93. 93 ghada Jul 15th, 2004 at 12:06 am

aha ..and personally can’t wait for ABIR’s great CD.. :o ( i can’t forget the song she sang last time by fairouz “nasam 3alayna el hawa”..still toning in my ears! i believe the superstar episodes will be good..but will lack some pure feelings like Abir’s, although ammar when he closes his eyes shows some feelings, sometimes.. ;o)
Aman :o ) let’s pray for Muhannad this time :o ( lol

94. 94 ghada Jul 15th, 2004 at 12:07 am

oooops did u say the word toning? oops God, i meant tunning :o ) excuse my Arabic lol

95. 95 Calabala Jul 15th, 2004 at 12:58 am

Peace all,
Thanks a lot ghada for your nice complement :)
By the way, I don’t think it would be hard for Ranim to find a patriotic that he could sing cuz there are many of them that you might not recall. Most of these patriotic songs were sang after the wars in 1967 and 1973 and were sang by many various and great singers like Abd Elhalim, Shadya, Warda, Fayza A7mad, Fayrooz, Wadee3 ElSafi. Even Oum Kolthom sang for Egypt way before that, so don’t worry ghada, Ranim wouldn’t have a disadvantage :)
About having a patriotic song day, I think that would certainly be a great idea, however, politically, I don’t think it is :S
Best Regards :) ;) :D

96. 96 UnKnown Jul 15th, 2004 at 2:49 am

Hi all, especially Ghada. After reading ur comments I realized that me and u have one BIG thing in common which is we love Abir so much. She was my favourite, and still and will always be. I keep saying that this girl is the only person that sings for Fairuz and I can listen to her. Cause since i was a kid, and fairuz was a dream to me, and i was never been able to listen to anyone singing her songs up until Abir came and sang her songs. Regarding Nassam 3alayna lhawa, the first day Rania said that fans can choose the songs for the contestants, I sent an email to the future and I said I would like to listen to Nassam 3alayna Lhawa from Abir and it happened. I was very happy. I liked it so much. So let’s hope me and u and everyone who likes honest music that Abir gets what she deserves and become our next Fairuz inshallah.

97. 97 UnKnown Jul 15th, 2004 at 2:51 am

Oh I forgot, even though from now on I would be voting for Mohannad, I believe that he is going to be leaving next. Because that’s the way the show is going. After Zahi, Ranin, Wa3d, Abir, now his turn.

98. 98 oceaneyes Jul 15th, 2004 at 7:08 am

Dear all,,

Hope ur all in good health,,
Hi ghada,,ranim has a good voice and deserves to be among the 3rd or 4th..remember when the 4 superstars 2003 were there,,he sang roweida’s song nicely..i don’t know also if u noticed that hadi is improving,,i do agree that he didn’t sing well in the khaleeji night but remember when he san
