Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 6

Yet another episode of SuperStar on Future TV last night, a great one too I must add.

In last night’s episode, the guest was Assalah, who surely showed who her favourite candidate was. But well I’ll get to that later.

There is no voting for this episode because Abeer Ni’meh wasn’t in it. Her dad is ill and she had to leave to be with him.
Hope he gets better soon and that we get her back for next week.

My favourites from last night were:

- Ammar Hassan (Palestine)
- Muhannad Mshallah (Syria)
- Houssam Madaniyyah (Syria)

The candidates sang the following songs last night:

- Abd El Rahman Mohamed : A song by Abd El Halim Hafedh, but I forgot what it’s called.
- Hadi Aswad : Lazra’lik Bustan Wrood (Ragheb Alama)
- Ammar Hassan : Alli Gara (Olayya)
- Ayman El A’tar : Law Ta’rafou (Assalah)
- Brigit Yaghi : Lawn Ayoonak (Nancy Ajram)
- Muhannad Mshallah : Khamrat El Hubb (Qudood Halabiyya)
- Husam Madaniyyah : Wala Marra (Milhim Barakat)
- Ranim Quteit : Tikhounouh (Abd El Halim Hafedh)

During Ammar’s performance, Assalah starting singing along with him making it more like a duet than a single performance.
She only did this with Ammar and she said she really liked him.

Then in the end, she sang 3 songs, the third of which was a song about Palestine and in the middle of it she passed the mic to Ammar who sang a few lines and then gave it back, and so she passed it on to Muhannad and then Ranim.

First of all, I wish Abir’s dad feels better soon and leaves the hospital. I tell her albi ma3ek. Because superstar without Abir makes no sense. Second of all they were all good last night, but Mohannad showed that he is a real singer.

  2. 2 Eman Jul 5th, 2004 at 10:15 am

I really feel sorry for Abeer, and truly wish her father will recover so that she can join the others next week. As for last night they were all really good. And Asala’s presence added a beautiful touch to the prime. She’s so great :)

masa el kheir ya alam el arabiye

Yes deep sympathy for Abir & well wishes for her father, hopefully he will get better & Abir is back next week, i really do not want her to be out any longer! :’(.

So can someone please tell me what will be in tomorrow nights TV slot??? Since there is no voting?

Now tonight I thought Mohannad was stand out success, but Ammar i dont know what he done this week with this guest?? the “duet” failed to impress me, i cannot figure out if Hady was any good with the “mawal” he produced before his song & I am not sure about Brigitte, she sing the song of Nancy Ajram! She should sing Ah W Noss next time, i love it :)

Anyway I am recording the program now & i will get them up ASAP, not slow like last week!

    shukran u alaikom :)

  4. 4 Abu Farweh Jul 5th, 2004 at 12:35 pm

My fellow music critics, there you have it another action packed episode of Superstar 2. One of the best episodes till now. I think for the most part all the contestants were great with two exceptions whose performance lingered below average…you may have guessed it yes Brigitte and Hadi. Truly their performances were not that impressive. My favorites were Mohannad Mishalla7, Ammar Hassan and Houssam Madanieh. I know if we wanted to be hard critics we could say that the duet was not that impressive, but note that ASALAH just happened to jump in…I guess she got excited and just jumped in…it is confusing for any well seasoned singer who may have rehearsed this and could certainly have thrown Ammar off, that did not happen. As he relaxed and went with the flow you can really see that he just was fabulous outstanding and was going head to head with ASALAH who commands exceptional vocals. The band had to adapt and then it went back and forth especially towards the Mawwal part….I think that ASALAH was very impressed as we all were. I give Ammar two thumbs up for a great performance.

Ok and best of wishes to Abir’s dad…hope to see her in the finals with Ammar, Houssam Madanieh and Mohannad Mishalla7.

Abu Farweh bids all a good day.

  5. 5 Eman Jul 5th, 2004 at 12:43 pm

Being spontaneous, I guess the duet was simply beautiful, I mean with no planning, and it turned out to be so great. I personally believe it was great and Ammar’s performance was so so wonderful just like Mohannad and Husam, they were so amazing the three of them.

  6. 6 Firas Jul 5th, 2004 at 3:31 pm

    Peace to all :)
First and foremost my best wishes to Abir and her family. Undoubtly her presence in this show is so much needed noting her great talent. Now to last night’s show. The least word to be said is that I was really impressed that I can easily say this was my favorite so far. Just FYI Ammar’s duet with Asalah was indeed planned. For whomever keeps up with “Superstar News” recall when they were rehearsing and when the candidates were being asked what they feel about Asalah being the next guest Ammar said something like “it is an honor for me to sing with her”. Yet I believe his performance was outstanding. Come on guys it is not easy to be “vocally racing” with Asalah (not personally a big fan but can’t deny her amazing vocal abilities). Taking that into consideration I believe his performance was great, and just the fact that Asalah sang the duet with him is a great indication of his talent and should be a great push for people to vote for him. And now to the rest of the trio :) . Mohannad as usual never fails to impress. It was about time for him to show us that he is not just “nominal” Halabi. Really amazing performance though wasn’t very sure if such style would bring him much voting support. “Qudoud Halab” appreciaters can be limited in contrast with pop/folk songs. Yet, again, I believe it was a must for him to sing it fir it shows his great vocal abilities and it just happenned to come in a perfect timing where no voting will take place. Last but not least, Hussam, as usual buts me with his vocal experiments in such an ecstacy in a way no other candidate can do. His “mawwal” was just amazing and just made me feel like I am listening to sufi tenor or something. Once again a great show. Can’t wait for next week. Sorry guys for the long “review” ;)
    Peace and Love

  7. 7 Aman Jul 5th, 2004 at 5:57 pm

Superstar was great last night. The best one yet! Inshallah Abir comes back next week with better news. Asala is amazing…great personality and even better voice…wow! But I must ask….why is everyone so hard on Hady? I truly think he is really improving so much every week and that last night was his best performance. Bridgette did good too. Hady is really doing his best out there and deserves to stay. Mohannad of course is absolutely amazing and I can’t ever get sick of watching him. Housam did great too but I think he needs to stop experimenting with his voice because he is already awesome. And please someone tell me…when is Abdel Rahman finally gonna leave. He is sooo depressing to watch, it is an embarrassment to the show to have him make it this far!!!

  8. 8 Aman Jul 5th, 2004 at 5:58 pm

Highlight of last night’s episode: Asala saying she broke her phone when Waed got kicked off the show. She is totally right. It still gets me so mad to think that one of the best voices on the show…if not the best…got voted off so early when people like AbdelRahman are in the final 9.

  9. 9 salma Jul 5th, 2004 at 8:46 pm

hi, i don’t think that hadi was bad. he was perfect and i think this was the best time he sang. i really really liked him this time.as well as ranim he was great…i think the best were hussam, mohannad, hadi and ranim. Of course, all my best wishes for abir’s father. i wish we could see her next week but the problem is that 2 of them have two leave and i don’t like that at all

  10. 10 Sophie Jul 5th, 2004 at 9:04 pm

Salut all. It was a perfect night. Asala has a great voice but she has no way in speaking, however i love her. My Super Super Super World Idol Houssam.M is the best& the greatest. I liked Asala when she talked about him & about the angel girl Waed Albahry. Houssam.M got a good saying from Dr. vocal “I forgot his name”, He said that Houssam.M is a real singer & other sayings….. but didn’t like the word “bahlwan”, cause he behaves in his implusive way.Houssam.M go go go darling, u r the best, & u r higher than any surname.

  11. 11 Calabala Jul 5th, 2004 at 11:44 pm

    Peace everybody,
First of all, my deepest sympathy and sorrows to Abir and her father, whom I wish he gets well soon. Secondly, of course Abir’s absence was a great loss that made the prime a little less exciting, however, the candidates’ performance was awesome as they tried hard to make it as exciting as they possibley can! I just have a comment about Asala’s duet with Ammar … My own belief or preception about this is that Asala sang with Ammar because he is Palestenian as she mentioned in the prime, and that Palestine means something really special to her and to all of us of course, and not because she wanted to show that Ammar is her favorite or the best as I’ve read from some of your respectful and valuable comments.
I agree with many of you guys that Hady Aswad is not the best candidate, however, lets be fair and say that his performance this time was almost the best so far, especially when he sang the “Mawwal” as he did a fairly good job in introducing us to some talents and/or abilities that he has and that we might have not seen them before!
Of course Muhannad and Hossam sang greatly this episode as usual; I wish them all the best. Brigitte was O.K., however, I believe she could have done better, whether in singing this song or in choosing another song. I really don’t know what to say about Abd’s performance … NO COMMENT!!!
Ranim was average, and I believe he can do better and he really needs to work more and improve!!!
Lastly, I wish you all a great time as I really enjoy reading ur comments, even though I might not like them or agree with them, but certainly they make me think as it exposes me to other opinions.
    Best Regards :) ;)

  12. 12 niveen Jul 6th, 2004 at 3:01 am

    Hi all
I agree with u calaba but that doesnt mean that Ammar’s performance was not good it was excellent and think he is one of the best
    Niveen

  13. 13 Abbood Jul 6th, 2004 at 4:55 am

As I was watching the rerun of the show with my brother, we muted the volume when Hussam was singing. We couldn’t stop cracking from watching his weird (understatement) facial expressions. The funny part though, my 3-year old nephew was playing in the living room… he started crying when he saw his face looooooool. This is no joke guys, that was a Codak moment :-) I don’t care how nice his voice is, but surely he can’t perform on stage. The vocal expert was spot on when he described his method of singing as “bahlawan”.

Anyway, I think Abdulrahman was great this week. Hadi, Brigget, Ranim, Ayman, and before all of them Hussam should leave before him.

Finally, I personally think the show sucked without Abir. I hope she gets back and lasts to the end as she surely deserves to be the superstar.

  14. 14 Rami Jul 6th, 2004 at 5:15 am

mohannad, ammar, and housam were the best

  15. 15 abu farweh Jul 6th, 2004 at 8:59 am

My fellow music critics, about the Ammar duet, it may have been planned but not rehearsed. I believe that Asalah said during one of the questions that she jumped in cause there is no voting this week and she wanted to sing with Ammar. I also remember seeing Abir in the Superstar news, with others of course, a couple of days before the show during which the contestants were expressing the enthusiasm and excitement for being with Asalah. Remember that the “no voting” arrangement as a last minute adjustment to Abir’s unfortunate family situation. At any rate, I have enjoyed the duet tremendously.

Abu Farweh bids all a good day.

  16. 16 salma Jul 6th, 2004 at 11:17 am

guys, why are you so cruel. Hadi was perfect and his voice is so nice. Also ranim was great, i don’t think he needs to sing a mawwal everytime to prove that he has a good voice..As for abd elrahman i agree that he has a nice voice but i don’t agree that ranim, hadi and brigitte should leave the program before him

  17. 17 dude Jul 6th, 2004 at 3:45 pm

Hi y’all. I was just wondering where you guys found the superstar contestants’ email addresses. Whoever has them, please post them here. Thanks.

  19. 19 Calabala Jul 6th, 2004 at 8:42 pm

    Peace,
First of all, thanks Nisreen for reading my comments, and I just wanted to clarify something to you … I’m not against Ammar at all, I just wanted to take the opportunity to share my opinion with you guys but never wanted to offend Ammar or any of the contestants. However I totally disagree with Abbood on the idea that Hadi, Briggite, and Ranim should leave before Abdulrahman does. It is true that he has a talent, however, he cannot compete. This again doesn’t mean that I’m against him or that I support Raneem and/or Hadi because I also believe that Raneem, Ayman and Hadi have a long way to go before competing with some of the contestants. Again, this is just my own personal opinion but does not have to be 100% right or wrong.
About the duet, I just wanted to mantion something when Asala commented on singing with Ammar, she said word by word : ” Ana ghaneet ma3 Ammar la2eno awalan mafe tesweet elyoom, w la2en Ammar men Palestine w Palestine bte3neely, w la2en Ammar howwa zameel w sadeeq metlo metl ba2y elmoshterkeen mahone zomala2y w asdeqa2y” and not because she wanted to sing with him as our respectful and beloved critic, Abu Farweh mentioned with no offence to him or to any of you our beloved and respectful critics, as well.
    Best Regards :) ;)

  20. 20 Lyla Jul 6th, 2004 at 9:21 pm

i thought this was one of, if not the best episodes ever… i love asalah so much and her presence really brightened up the night.. i know i shouldnt b nationalistic or whatever .. but i have to say all these syrians made my heart beat hard with pride :::)))

& i pray for Abir & her family and hope she will return to us soon !!!

  21. 21 Aman Jul 6th, 2004 at 9:29 pm

Calabala I completely agree with everything you wrote..we have similar opinions…haha!

  22. 22 Calabala Jul 6th, 2004 at 9:35 pm

Thank you Aman. It is my pleasure that we have something in common among us, it certainly pleases me :) :D
    Best Regards :) ;)

  23. 23 Firas Jul 6th, 2004 at 10:12 pm

    Peace to all :)
I do not intend to over stretch the issue of why Assalah sang with Ammar. Undoubtly a primary, and expressed as well, was the fact that he is Palestinian. However, I just wanted to bring to the respectful critics the idea that if Ammar lacked enough talent to entitle him to sing a duet with her she wouldn’t do it. To further clarify what I am trying to say here, let’s just assume this is super star 1, and the Palestinian guy is M. Lafi, I would really be shocked if Assalah sings with him (with all due respect to his talent and to any of his fans around here). To sum it up :) it took a little more of Ammar than being a Palestinian to get the honor singing a duet with Asalah.
    Peace and love ;)

  24. 24 Calabala Jul 7th, 2004 at 12:09 am

    Peace,
I totally agree with you Firas that if Ammar lacked a noticeable talent, Asala wouldn’t have sang with him, and when I said that Asala sang with him because he is Palestinian I didn’t say that this is the only reason or the most important, but I tried to comment on some of the respectful comments that mentioned that Asala sang with him because he is the best, or he is her favorite, etc…
No one should really deny that ALL contestants are talented, however, some of them fully depend on their talent, which is wrong, because experience and knowledge are very important and a great assit as well, and thats why some contestants are better than others.
    Best Regards :) ;)

  25. 25 abu farweh Jul 7th, 2004 at 8:38 am

Calabala ya Calabala, a second look at my comment above, you’ll quickly see that we agree on the reasons why ASALAH sang with Ammar. I mentioned that the fact there will be “no voting” plus the obvious fact that she likes him because he is Palestinian made her jump in and sing…. You see, in fact we do share the same opinion.

I as a Palestinian think that Ammar is very good, however I could care less if he makes it to number 1. Honestly I believe that he should be among the top 4 finalists. Of course all due credit is given to the rest of our contestants for their exceptional talents. Even Abdul Rahman, new at singing infront of an audience, can outperform a number of singers out there today.

Abu Farweh …. LOVES YOU and Bids you a good day.

  26. 26 Abbood Jul 7th, 2004 at 10:32 am

I just want to stress a point Abu Farweh mentioned indirectly when he said “Even Abdul Rahman, new at singing infront of an audience, can outperform a number of singers out there today.” If you compare the way Abdulrahman was performing in the first episode to this week’s performance, you would notice a huge improvement in terms of communciation, facial expressions, eye contact, and confidence. In fact, I think he was the most improved among the whole group based on the voice analysis that was shown on extra last week. I think he was ranked something around 7th (out of 10) after the 2nd round, and now he is 4th trailing only Abir, Muhannad, and Hussam. I am sorry Abu Farweh, but his scores were better than Ammar’s.

Is there any insider here who can provide us with info about the status of Abir’s father? maybe someone living in Lebanon can check for us what’s going on! Ghada, maybe you could help us out here!!!

  27. 27 dona Jul 7th, 2004 at 12:22 pm

    Hi every one

Dona, which satellite do you use & which city you in? Im in Sydney & use TARBS & they are still running.

BTW fans of Super Star i am looking for the names of some of the songs:
    Abdel Rahman Mohammed
Asalah - song with the girl in the audience
    Asalah - song #2
Asalah - song with the Superstars
Group song at the beginning of the episode.

Please :) I am uploading the mp3s right now :)

inshalla abir’s dad get’s better…i feel sorry for him

  30. 30 Calabala Jul 7th, 2004 at 5:52 pm

    Peace all,
Ya Abu Farweh, I totally agree with you and certainly it pleases me to know that we have got something in common ;) … What I was trying to say is basically that people shouldn’t take the duet as if Asala likes Ammar more!!! But, of course, this young man is very talented and has got the experience and knowledge, which some of the contestants might have lacked in the beginning of the program, however, they are showing a great improvement!!! Anyways, lets not over-stress the issue anymore cause there is no need to do so. As for Abeer’s father, I’ve watched yesterday’s Superstar News … The contestants visited Abeer at the hospital and Abeer mentioned that her father is getting better. As well, Abeer along with her mother had lunch with the contestants and she was smiling (Just like meeee :) :) :) :) :D :D :D :D )
I wish all of you, my dear critics and friends a great day :) ;) :) :D
    Best Regards :) ;)

    Ur welcome ;)

  36. 36 Calabala Jul 8th, 2004 at 12:05 am

    Peace,
Thanks a lot ZlatkoT for ur efforts in providing us with the songs ;) … I have a request if you do not mind!! I think it would be great if u can provide us with Asala’s song “7kaya” that she sang with the audience because it was really great :) :)
    Thanks again

I have some shocking & devastating news for us Australians which Dona mentioned earlier before, we no longer receive the satellite service TARBS & therefore no Future TV & NO SUPER STAR!!

I will look into things, but it doesnt look good!

  38. 38 Aman Jul 8th, 2004 at 2:15 am

Wooowwww! I just finished watching SuperStar Extra. I cannot believe how rude Ammar is. He was completely out of line and totally arrogant, getting upset about them talking about his weight. He needs to get over himself. And I know soo many people reading this are going to disagree with me lol, but from the beginning, especially now….I think Ammar is soooo overrated and I don’t understand why people love him so much, what exactly makes him so special. I have yet to find anything in his voice that makes him stand out from the rest. If people voted Waed out because of her attitude then Ammar should be next!

  39. 39 Aman Jul 8th, 2004 at 2:17 am

Oh one more thing lol….can you guys believe that 2 of them voted for Mohanned to get kicked out and another 2 for Abir. That is just ridiculous. I only fear that AbdelRahman is going to win it all because people’s taste can be so weird lol. And “that girl” who Asala sang to is her daughter lol….everyone keeps calling her the girl. I thought it was kinda obvious lol…and they mentioned it on the episode of extra..haha. Take care guys…till the next episode!

  40. 40 Abo Salah Jul 8th, 2004 at 2:21 am

Hi zlatkot, I have an idea for u. U can go to www.jumptv.com. U pay I think 10 dollars a month and u can watch future tv on ur computer live. I have it on. It’s like tv and very nice.
    Good luck man

I still need the name of the group song at the start please :)

  42. 42 Abbood Jul 8th, 2004 at 4:22 am

Aman— the scores I am talking about are the voice test analysis for the contestants using certain criteria. They showed the results of these tests on extra last week. You might have seen it but didn’t realize that they were voice tests. They stick these wires all over them to see the performance of their voices. I personally believe that these tests are the most important measures to judge the contestants. Of course I would rather depend on the comments of the judges, but obviously the role of the judges has been limited to saying: “You were great… inshallah we will see you next week,” which is not exactly what I want to hear.

By the way Aman, if I have to agree with you on one thing, it would be the part where you mentioned that Ammar is overrated.

Anyway, it seems that we will see Abir next Sunday :-) Even though I believe that if she had the choice to select one episode to skip, it would have been for sure the khaleegi episode. You must realize though that she was in the hospital all week and didn’t have time to practice a type of songs she needs to practice so badly. so give her a break and vote for her.

If Abir is back, then two are leaving this time. The logic and fairness says that the two should be Ayman and Hadi.

I have only one comment for you all it is believe stop being nationalisitic wehter you are Palestenian, Syrian, Labenese, Egyptian ,or whichever nationality. we are all arab lets vote for the good voice

  44. 44 haya Jul 8th, 2004 at 5:24 am

sorry i meant please not believe

  45. 45 abu farweh Jul 8th, 2004 at 6:24 am

Ok, well I guess Ammar’s attitude was a bit too much … you have to admit though that dwarfing anyone by talking about his “negative” physical attributes is hard to swallow by anyone, couple that with the constant pressure of the competition and things like that become expected. Those of you would have realized that Abdul Rahman was angry about comments made in the segment as well Houssamn Madanieh for comments made by Bassam Baddour.

I disagree with comments that say Ammar is overrated, simply because he has been consistent and really showing true talent without much in the way of clowning like the truly overrated people like Brigitte, Hadi and Ayman who in my opinion truly and honestly have no business making it this far. We lost a great amount of truly talented people in the second round that deserve to be in the finals.

    Abu Farweh - Good Day

  46. 46 Abbood Jul 8th, 2004 at 9:02 am

Zlatkot— I hope you find a way to watch superstar. The blog without you is like superstar without Abir :-)

By the way, the link for Abdulrahman’s song is not working.

  47. 47 Lylani Jul 8th, 2004 at 3:06 pm

i want to know who the JEALOUS fools were who voted for mohannad and abir to leave…
    thats crazy…

  48. 48 dude Jul 8th, 2004 at 4:47 pm

If indeed 2 people will leave us this week they should be Ayman and Ranim. Ranim can’t sing! In my opinion he’s worse than Abdel Rahman in all types of music. I still think Ranim is a good guy, as all the superstar finalists are, but if he wins superstar it would be like Diana Karazon winning Miss Lebanon.

  49. 49 Aman Jul 8th, 2004 at 5:11 pm

I completely disagree with anyone who defends Ammar’s comments on Extra. Everyone got picked on in the episode, not just Ammar! The same exact comment was made about Ayman and she talked about Ranim getting a belly and Muhannad being overweight. They all didn’t freak out like him. He overreacted, no one can deny that. And very true Houssam complained, but at least he had manners! I do think he is overrated. And for everyone bashing Hady lol, I’m not saying he is the best, but he was almost kicked off and people on the show vote for him a lot, so how is he overrated? I also want to know the jealous idiots who voted for Muhannad and Abir, that was insane!

  50. 50 SYRIA123 Jul 8th, 2004 at 5:13 pm

AYMMAN YOU ARE IGNORANT IF YOU THINK THAT AMMAR IS OVERRATED, HE AND HUSSAM MADENIA ARE THE BEST 2 VOICES, I BET YOU LIKE HADI AND BRIGHIT BECAUSE THEY ARE CUTE!!!!!

  54. 54 ghada Jul 9th, 2004 at 12:13 am

guys let us not keep judging the contestants cos of some of the attitude they show. I believe they are all overstressed and sometimes things get out of control. They are humans and not machines, they have the right to express themselves whether in bad or good. We all do mistakes and nobody is perfect. We all get mad :0)
I believe ammar was just defending himself, maybe he is sensitive more than others, we don’t know, maybe it is just too personal for him to criticize his weight or whatever.
Abed is cute but he needs to speak up loud, he is very peaceful and things might not be on his side.
Anyway, wish abir will be with them this sunday :)
Abbood i like ur comments as always :)

  55. 55 Aman Jul 9th, 2004 at 12:34 am

First of all lol…how can anyone be ignorant for having an opinion? loool. I think that Ammar is overrated and that is my right lol. And actually for everyone’s information, Hady is not my favorite, Houssam Madinya and especially Muhannad are my favorites. I want Muhannad to win it all. Why does Syria123 think I don’t like Houssam lol, when did I say that? But I do find it funny that he/she wrote Ayman instead of Aman..it’s ok lol. Just a bit of information for everyone, not liking a particular contestant does not make ignorant, only opinionated :)

  56. 56 Calabala Jul 9th, 2004 at 3:24 am

    Peace all,
As I was reading your comments, something popped up to my mind … I believe that this site should bring us closer to one another as we all have something in common, which is that we like Super Star no matter who is my, your, her or his favorite contestant(s). So I don’t think that we need to fight or be offensive :)
Secondly, although we all have different opinions, lets not make our judgements based on nationality or on your own feeling towards a specific contestants … In other words, lets be reasonable, fair and logical.
I watched Super Star Extra yesterday, it was all O.K., specially the voting part because alhamdulellah there were no fights :) :D . However, just like many of you, I didn’t like Ammar’s attitude. I agree with ghada that he might be sensitive, but, he could have expressed his point of view in a better way that could have been much more respectful to both himself and the stylist than fighting with the stylist. There were some others who were mad, but they behaved in a more respectful manner like Abdulrahman. Hussam was more respectful than Ammar as well, but he said something disrespecful towards Bassam Badour, which was that Bassam Badour’s job is to lead the musicians and not judge him by saying that he shouts a lot (well he does shout a lot to be fair). Again, he shouldn’t have said that about a person like Bassam, he could have expressed his concerns in a better way.
Yes, they are stressed, but this is not an enough or a reasonable reason for some of the contestants to behave in such manner, because this stress in nothing compared to what they are gonna face in the future if they choose to be singers.
This is just my opinion, and I tried to be as reasonable as possible without being in any of the contestants’ side (although I have a favorite one just like all of you ;) )
    Best Regards :) ;) :D

  58. 58 niveen Jul 9th, 2004 at 3:46 am

I like your comment Ghada and I completely agree with you. we dont know what the contestants are going thru and anyway My favorites are as follows:
    Ammar
    Muhannad
    Abir

  59. 59 Abbood Jul 9th, 2004 at 4:21 am

Ghada, it seems you are becoming the most valuable member in this blog :-)

Aman, express your opinions in anyway you feel like. If we are allowed to have a democracy in one thing in life, then it will be this superstar blog. I wonder where is Ruby though!!! she is never shy about expressing her opinions, especially about Hussam.

Sophie, plz answer me… why do you always send multiple comments each and every time???

So Bassam said that Hussam shouts a lot??? Finally someone is honest about describing Hussam’s singing. Did he say shouting bluntly just like that, or he also used the polite term for shouting: “high notes”? :-) Anyway, It seems I missed an interesting extra episode.

Ghada, I think it was you who told me that Ammar is going to sing Leila for Idris, right? Here is the deal, if he shouts in this song (which he most likely will) then everybody should stop voting for him so he can go participate in a shouting contest. However, if he doesn’t shout, then I promise that I will vote for him using all my three emails. What do you think Abu Farweh, deal?

If we can include the ones who left as well, then my three favorites in order are: 1) Yasmeen, 2) Abir, and 3) Abdulrahman.

  60. 60 niveen Jul 9th, 2004 at 5:07 am

i thought Husam M. is the one who shouts not Ammar

  61. 61 Abu Farweh Jul 9th, 2004 at 6:31 am

Good morning my dear fellow critics, Abboud, Sophie Sophie, Niveen Calabala, etc…..a lot has happened in the blog as I was enjoying a quite night sleep….hummmm.

I agree with the comment that said that contestants my have or are going through stressful times and they are not machines. I also agree that Ammar could have stated his opinion in a better way. Actually I stated that in earlier comments.

Houssam M. is very talented no one can deny that however, despite his seemingly docile nature, did lash out at Bassam Badour who seems like a nice and very professional and capable musician.

I am developing an affinity for Abdul Rahman, he is definitely talented, however think he should be a bit more aggressive often times he portrays a helpless attitude sometimes.

Abboud ya Abboud, I think Ammar is not screaming as often, I mean his Um Kulthom song and last Sunday’s performance were on the mellow side, and yes it is a deal.

Now here are my top favorite contestants:

    9. Hadi Aswad
    8. Brigite
    7. Ayman
    6. Ranim
    5. Abdul Rahman
    4. Houssam M.
    3. Abeer Ni’meh
    2. Ammar
    1. Mohannad Mishalla7

To be honest, with certain reservations about Hadi, Brigite and Ayman I think that all contestants are very good. Definitely the top 4 are my favorites.

A closing note, look at the many music channels curtsy of your satellite provider, someone please tell me what have we eluded to over the past few years? Naked women shaking their rear ends, Bull S__T artists with no vocals what so ever, who discovered these retards in the first place. We live in musical vacuum that gave birth to clowns who cash in on our ignorance and lack of taste. Truly we need to change our approach to music which starts by producing a group of talented artists and individuals. The Arabic music market is so thirsty for such talents who’s roots are anchored deep rich musical tradition.

    Abu Farweh - Good Day.

  62. 62 Abbood Jul 9th, 2004 at 7:56 am

Abu Farweh, are you sure you woke up or you were still sleeping when you wrote the comment? So many surprises in your last comment:

First, you have Muhannad as number one even though you have always been leading the campaign for Ammar!!!

Second, you have Abir before Hussam even though, if I recall correctly, it was you who came up with the golden trio term (or at least have used it) which didn’t include Abir!!!

Third, you are starting to like Abdulrahman and you have him ranked higher than 4 others!!!

Finally, I have two opposite extreme opinions about what you said:

    1) I completey agree with what you said regarding Abdulrahman: “however think he should be a bit more aggressive often times he portrays a helpless attitude sometimes.” Ghada, doesn’t Abu Farweh’s comment sound familiar?

    2) I completely disagree with what you said regarding Hussam being docile. I believe it’s obvious that Hussam is the most arrogant and full of himself amnog the whole group. These are not qualities of a docile person.

  63. 63 Calabala Jul 9th, 2004 at 8:23 am

    Peace all,
Good Morning Abu Farweh and my dear friends. I actually didn’t feel like sleeping and so I decided to read your comments that I really enjoy. I have noticed something though, we are judging the personalities of the contestants a lot, even though we don’t know them that good to make such judgements (i.e. arrogant, helpless, etc..). I believe that many of you know this proverb very well ” Te3raf folan, 2allo ah, 2allo 3asherto, 2allo la2, 2allo yeb2a mate3rafosh), and what I wanna say by mentioning this proverb is that we are not living with these people, we watch them on T.V. for a short period of time, and this doesn’t qualify us to judge them like that. We can judge their talents and attitudes, yet not their personalities.
And honestly, if I was to appear on the T.V. as much as they do, knowing that millions of people all around the world are watching me, I would certainly act in a totally different way than I do in my daily life with family and friends; I woud wanna appear as perfect as I can so that people wouldn’t hate me, and so on. I believe that most of you, dear friends, would certainly feel the same way, if I am not wronged.
Anyways, I wish you a great day full of happiness and success :D :)
    Best Regards :) ;) :D

  64. 64 ZlatkoT Jul 9th, 2004 at 8:51 am

I think it will turn out like this on the show:

    9. Abdel Rahman Mohammed
    8. Hady Aswad
    7. Ayman Al Atar
    6. Brigitte Yaghi
    5. Ranim Koteit
    4. Abir Nameh
    3. Houssam Madanieh
    2. Ammar Hassan
    WINNER: Mohannad Mshallah

I only say Mohannad because not only is he a good singer, he seems to not be caught up in any of the bickering that is going on.

  65. 65 abu farweh Jul 9th, 2004 at 10:21 am

Abboud and the rest… I’m awake guys…come on. In addition to Ammar whom I like very much, I’ve said before that I liked Mohannad Mishalla7, H. Madanieh and Abir all along. In terms of listening to the Tarabi style Mohannad has a little bit more of an edge over Ammar. Not so much so when it comes to H. Madanieh and his vocal acrobatics. Now Abir deserves a classification all to her own.

As for Abdul Rahman, I would want to see him a bit more aggressive, his good nature got to me. However he should stop worrying about his lack of previous musical background and education and focus on improving. The guy is talented and also the Arabic music scene has enough room for him.

I wish that the especially talented contestants from the group move on to have a successful career in music for the sake of our beloved Arabic music.

    Abu Farweh - Good Day

  66. 66 dude Jul 9th, 2004 at 5:42 pm

Abboud: Hussam may appear arrogant at times, but he hasn’t appeared that way in many episodes. I think he was like that in the beginning because he was so much older than the other contestants (he’s 29), so he felt like he didn’t belong. Now however, I think he’s more himself. I love reading all your comments dudes and girls, so keep posting. Later- Dude

  67. 67 kitkat Jul 9th, 2004 at 6:00 pm

hi… this is the first time for me to see this site… it’s really cool! i wanted to know if ZlatkoT could please put the video image for gha’nou ma3ana online b/c i missed that episode and i really want to see that part. thanks and again great site:).
    kitkat
ps. thanks ZlatkoT for the mp3s.

  68. 68 kitkat Jul 9th, 2004 at 7:08 pm

i was just reading the comments and here are my favorite 3:
    1. ranim b/c he has so much potential and his voice has many aspects and he could so many things with it and he is the best at getting the crowd on their feet and into the song which i think is one of the most important things about being an artist second only to having a great voice

    2. mohannad b/c he can sing all styles of music with proficiancy and he’s fun and can get a crowd going

    3. hadi b/c he’s still very young ( i heard 17 or 18) and he sings the new, up beat songs of today and he sings them very well and he also knows how to get the crowd going.

i also chose these 3 because they’re some what the underdogs….. i mean neither one of them won the most votes on his episode in the second round and mohannad i think came in 3rd place and was given a final chance in the wild car episode….

i hope my comments have some value to all you experienced superstar critics.
    thanks
    kitkat

  69. 69 Lylani Jul 9th, 2004 at 7:18 pm

    1-Mohannad 2-Hussam 3-Ammar 4-Abir 5-Abd 6-Ayman 7-Ranim 8-Hadi 9-Bridgitte ..
(i think brigitte is more Star Academy material ahahah) ..

oh my goodness Abu Farweh i agree so much with ur comment about our music nowadays!!.. i have been noticing the trend in video clips etc for some time now with the half naked women and people who cant sing worth…like Ruby & Nancy Ajram etc.. & did anyone see “samra” the other day on Future ..all these dumb enrique eglesias wannabees who cant sing or dance or act for that matter & they were showing some pics of girls who were undressing and taking baths and stuff!!.. i watched 5 sec and it made me sick .. y is it that we have to copy the Western style of dress, music, culture etc.. ?? I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND!!!… i meean we have the most beautiful culture and values w/out that crap! ..
but anyway.. that is what i like about superstar is that it seems classy.. at least so far.. and they keep a lot of the older music alive& popular.. (even though it was a western idea for the show i guess)…there is not the western wannabe attitude like there is on say Star academy for example

  70. 70 laila Jul 9th, 2004 at 7:35 pm

salut j aime bien les adderants de ce superstar c est chouette.tout les menbres sont super se sont des chanteurs de talent .pour moi j prefere 3abd erahman. hadi asswad et ranim .hossam…et tous ……….bye

  71. 71 Calabala Jul 9th, 2004 at 8:19 pm

    Peace all,
I was sooooo excited when I read Abu Farweh’s and Lylani’s comments as I finally found someone who has the same point of view as I do. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!
I also was watching Samra’s episode yesterday, and I watched a video clip for a new guy called Alex, POOR GUY … It seems that not only the girls who dance half naked, but guys as well :S :S . Our poor fellow Alex was shaking his butt in the video clip; WHAT A SHAME!!!!!
Anyways, thats why we need to support Super Star contestants, they really deserve so as they know what does “Tarab” mean, as well as being talented.
    Best Regards :) ;)

  72. 72 Aman Jul 9th, 2004 at 8:30 pm

Hey all! I love your reading your comments! Dude, I COMPLETELY AGREE with you about Houssam. I do not think he has been arrogant at all lately and even if he seemed that way, he is the oldest one, it is natural for him to think he has an edge over contestants when he has 10-13 years of more experience and life than them lol. This is the list for me!
    9-AbdelRahman
    8-Ranim
    7-Ammar
    6-Ayman
    5-Bridgette
    4-Abir
    3-Hady
    2-Houssam
    1-Winner…Mohanned!

And for everyone that thinks I like Hady cuz he’s cute lol, I really love his personality. He is always smiling and seems so nice and he has so much potential to grow as a singer. He is only 19 guys, cut him some slack! And I actually think Bridgette has a beautiful voice and I feel bad that she gets so much slack here because she’s cute and people think that is the only reason she is here. I think she’s great!

  73. 73 syria123 Jul 9th, 2004 at 9:44 pm

I dont know how you guys think that Muhhanad “3aloush guy” can win it all, actually he may be leaving this week, mark my words,

    This week Mantikat el Khater
    9)Brighit
    8)Hadi
    7)Muhannad

  74. 74 unknown Sep 11th, 2005 at 2:23 am
