Future Arab SuperStarLast night the results of the voting for the fifth prime were announced.
They were sort of a shock, as the result was totally unexpected for me.
Last night, the following candidates were called into the danger zone:
- Housam Shami - Lebanon
- Abd El Rahman Mohamed - KSA
- Abeer Ni’meh - Lebanon
And the candidate who had to leave was:
- Housam Shami - Lebanon
I honestly thought Abd El Rahman would be leaving, not because I don’t like him, in fact I think he’s really good and I have some other people who I think should leave before him.
But I never expected Housam Shami to leave, not because I like him, in fact he’s not one of my faves, but because he seemed to be so popular with the girls.
Anyway, I think it’s wrong that Abeer Ni’meh keeps coming up in the danger zone. She has a great voice, she totally is one of the top 4.
Next week’s guest is Asalah.

I really thought that either Hadi Aswad or Ayman el A3tar would leave today as their performance is a little less than the others. But Husam el Shami, i thought he’d go a lot longer.
You cant control the people who vote though, and my guess is that lebanon didnt have enough people to vote for 3 canidates lol

Has anyone seen anything interesting on Extra? .. everytime i watch its boring…
Lyla— Extra was mostly boring today. Especially the voting part where it was way over-stretched.
However, there was something interesting about extra today. The part where they showed the measurements of the voices of the ten contenstants. I hope someone here recorded the show and would kindly post the numbers here. I remember roughly the following rankings:
1) Abir (expected and well deserved)
2) Muhannad
3) Hussam M
4) Abdulrahman (can u spell “underrated”?)
5) Ammar
6-9) Ranim, Brigget, Hadi, Hussam S
10) Ayman
Very interesting that two of the people who were in the danger zone (Abir, and Abdulrahman) are among top 4 in terms of voice quality.
Its great reading all your different opinions which you all seem so passionate about. Its great to see the comments are intelligent and well thought out not just emotional nonsense.
The is a point you all seem to be missing in asking the question who should win.
There is a difference between who is the best singer and who will sell th most records.
Last season Diana was by far the best singer over all tpyes of songs. But its obvious that Milhem sold the most CD and will continue to do so. Although he wasn’t the best last season he will go on to be the most sucessful. The point is technically Abeer has the best voice but the big $$$ question is who will sell the most CD.Don’t forget this is what its allabout. The companies want to have the person that makes the most money for them. What do you guys think?
P.S. I am happy to see the judges get more real with their comments. Someone must have pointed out to them that CRITISISM is an important part of the show. But they are still far too soft on bad performances. Someone should email that on the official website. I can’t read Arabic otherwise i would do it.

Joe et al. I personally sent a note to Future TV about two weeks ago requesting that the judges be more real in their critic instead of always praising positively what is considered as average performances. I believe that Ms. Hajj is the best out of all judges in providing honest feedback. Mind you that the judges in the American Idol version of the show are much more realistic and don’t kiss so much ___ss. I was troubled for a while by Mr. Rahbani’s repeated praise to Brigitte Yaghi and his constant reference to her dad. Anyhow Mrs. Hajj’s comments to Houssam As-Shami were correct. Those of you who watched the re-run can clearly tell that he was out of tune for the first few seconds during the Mawal.
As for those of you who watched Superstar Extra yesterday you would have, for sure, noticed the attitude of Houssam As-Shami who was far from being a sport or a gentleman about the issue of votes between contestants. I mean come on what a cry baby. I believe that he was counting on his looks more than anything else. The same is true for Brigitte and H. Asswad (the uncool trio) who reminded me of those spoiled kindergarten brats. I’m especially impressed by the honesty of Ammar Hassan, Abeer Ni’meh, Abul Rahman.

I understand what you mean Joe, and it’s true that for the production companies that’s what really matters.
All they care about is who will sell more records. But, I think that as a talent show, the fans should oblige themselves to vote for the best talent and not for the most sellable and marketable one.
That’s the only way we’re going to get some really great singers out there to be heard and enjoyed.
If we’re going to talk who’s going to sell more records, well then Brigitte Yaghi and Hadi Aswad would most probably do best.
But when you come to true talent and great singing, it’s Ammar Hassan, Muhannad Mshallah, Abeer Ni’meh and Housam Madaniyyeh.
Big difference.
Anyway, I’ve always been a fan of less famous great singers who really amaze my ears with their great work rather than the ultra famous mediocre singers who fill up the airwaves with their copy/paste forgettable music.

about being realistic or emotional .. come on guy i try so hard to be realistic but honestly i find ammar the best .. i dunno if this is becoz he is from my country or becoz he’s got a good voice .. i mean such compititions can be so confusing in this issue !!

Joe: Diana Karazon was neither the best singer nor the best recording artist from last year’s competition, it was unfair that she won, but let’s leave that argument behind us. What I do want to comment on is what you said about the winner not always selling the most albums. I agree with that statement because it’s proven true here in America, but I don’t think that Brigitte or Hadi would sell more records than Medanieh, Muhannad, or Ammar. Looks don’t always sell music.
P.S. Does anyone know if Hussam Medanieh has a website?
Raghida— two comments: 1) Abir definitly had the highest score, so she is the unanimous number one, so move Hussam M to number 2, and 2) Abdulrahman definitly had a higher score than ammar, so they need to be switched also. What I asked for are the actual scores of their voice tests.
did anyone else pay attention to the fact that both Abir and Ammar thought that Ayman was going to make it to the final 4!!!! Wierd….I always thought to myself what the hell is he still doing around….but to have two of the top singers think that he can last until the final 4 makes me wonder!

ohh…and another thing….I think that Abir should try singing some of the songs for Najat al Saghira…I think her voice is well suited for some of the latter’s songs!
Salut all. Houssam.M was very very cute in extra. I dont know how peopel dont like him. U know what? yesterday was my greatest day. I discovered that my causen knows Houssam.M , my cousin is a singer , but just a hopper, he knows Houssam.M , he is his friend. I cant believe that. Houssam.M is the VOICE OF THE SUN. U R great.
Hussam M, has for sure a great voice, but there are a number of ppl on superstar that r continuing even though they dont have the voice.
Please tell me what the heck ayman is doing on the show???

OK on this night I thought Ayman’s song choice was the best “Wal Bal” BUT i thought he sang it poorly & was inferior to Rouwayda’s version. On the night (from what I could hear) Ammar was the best & even Houssam Chami had a nice melodic song this week, still shock he is out

I agree with you chris that Abir would do good in one of Najat’s songs. I sent an email and requested to listen to either el teir el mesafer or ana bastanak for najat in Abir’s voice. I hope she does sings it. Last week I sent an email requesting that she sings Nassam 3alayna lhawa, and she did. So hopefully she does this time too.

I am from Australia and I watch Superstar by satellite. I absolutley LOVE it. I must say Mouhannad is my favourite and I make sure that I never miss an episode.
I was very upset yesterday because the satellite we have has been disconnected so I cant watch it anymore.. Please keep me updated on the news!

well guys i guess u r mistaking about Ayman El A3tar , this guys has one of the rarest voices in all of the arab world , and he exells in the Tarab songs , but the problem with him is the songs that he picks.
P.S. 3abir ne3meh , and muhannad mchallah are the best till now. Husam madaniyyah is good but he always sings like the time before , and the last couple episodes he didn’t do as good as the begining.3ammar is #4 i guess
