Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 4 : The Results

Last night the results of the voting for the fourth prime were announced.
I wasn’t able to catch the results episode either as I was out, but from what I’ve understood from the comments on yesterday’s post, here is what happened. Correct me if I’m wrong :)

Last night, the following candidates were called into the danger zone:

- Hadi Aswad - Syria
- Abd El Rahman Mohamed - KSA
- Mohamed Daoud - Kuwait

And the candidate who had to leave was:

- Mohamed Daoud - Kuwait

Well I’ve been expecting Mohamed to leave soon. He’s nice and good, but the level is just stronger than him.

Can’t wait for next sunday.

For more information, check out my Future Arab Superstar Coverage.

IN MY OPINION THE VOTES WERE FAIR! (THANK GOD)..
I really was afraid about mohannad but everyone who loves him voted for him! CoooooooL
It was really suprize when Dawood leaved coz the Gulf people support him..Adb too..
Actually it’s the time that Hday go the danger zone even to go out..He can’t challange the others! In addition to that he has problem with spelling (The “S”)..so the next one must be HADY :) ..then Abd…Then the prgram will be REALLY HOT!! The prgram will be HOT and Difficult and DANGEROUS!!

PLEASE VOTE FOR MOHANNAD IF YOU LOVE HIM :)

Zlatkot… thanks a lot for posting the songs for us every week. However, were you able to convery the two songs I told you about?

14. 14 dude Jun 22nd, 2004 at 6:21 pm

I think the top 10 will go as follows:

10. Hussam Chami
9. Ranim Koteit
8. Ayman Al Atar
7. Abdel Rahman Mohammad
6. Hady Aswad
5. Brigitte Yaghi
4. Abir Nameh
3. Mohannad Mshallah
Top 2. Ammar Hassan and Hussam Mediniyah

Please remember that this is just my opinion, so don’t get angry if I placed your favorites outside of the top 5.

15. 15 Rami Jun 22nd, 2004 at 11:05 pm

what can i say…ZlatKot you are the best

16. 16 joe Jun 23rd, 2004 at 3:24 am

I still hold to my opinion on the judges

“Can someone please tell me whats with the judges. Are they scared to give a real opinion. What happenened to telling someone that it wasn’t good or that its not up to standard. They have become whimps. Only the female judge will slightly give critisism and then say but don’t get me wrong you were GREAT. The show is great but we need real judges with real opinions. Please tell me what you think.”
JJ

20. 20 Sophie Jun 23rd, 2004 at 1:21 pm

Salut all. U R great dude. Because u but H.Madanya & Ammar in the top 2. In my opinion the top 10 r:
10; Raneem
9; Abed
8: Abeer
7: Hady
6: Brejet
5:Ayman
4:Mohannad
3:H.Shamy
2:Ammar
1:H.Madanya
The top of the tops is:
Houssam Madanya.

21. 21 Raed Jun 23rd, 2004 at 2:57 pm

HI Sophie and Dude,

My list is so close to your lists:

10.Ranim
9. Abed
8. Abeer
7. Ayman
6. Hadi
5. Husam Al Shami
4. Briggete
3. Mohanad

The final two Ammar and hussam Madanyia: but I go For Ammar as the final Superstar. This is my opinion; with respect to all other opinions and tastes.
Raed

22. 22 Abbood Jun 23rd, 2004 at 3:43 pm

Zlatkot, for some reason, i can’t accept files through the messenger… so, if you can email me the two songs or upload their links here i would greatly appreciate it.

Abu Farweh… Rami and Zlatkot r our great song providers. I only request things from them. So I don’t deserve to have my name mentioned with them :-)

Brigete and Ayman are listed twice higher than Abir. Was someone talking about fairness???

23. 23 Abbood Jun 23rd, 2004 at 3:46 pm

By the way, I loved Muhannad’s Terghali… However, I have no idea what does Terghali mean!!! Our Shami friends here, help ur khaleegi friend here :-)

24. 24 Kapoo Jun 23rd, 2004 at 4:09 pm

I think abir is the best but i don’t think she’ll win because che’ll drop out when they sing trathi. Don’t kill me if u dont like abir.

25. 25 Kapoo Jun 23rd, 2004 at 4:09 pm

she’ll i mean

26. 26 Abu Farweh Jun 23rd, 2004 at 4:48 pm

My fellow critis, my top 10 list is as follow:

10. Abdul Rahman
9. Ranim Koteit
8. Hady Asward
7. Brigite
6. Ayman
5. H. Shami
4. Abeer N’imeh
3. Mohannad Mishalla7
2. Hussam Madanieh
1. Ammar Hassan (Superstar)

Anyone of the last three names what I call THE GOLDEN TRIO, Ammar, Mohannad and Houssam Madanieh are very qualified for the title and can out perform all the group and actually do better than many of the singers out there today. I also should state that Abir Ni’meh is a real talent and desrves serious appreciation…our Tarab style however is best perfected by the the Golden Trio. I do hope that these three remain till the bitter end, they will rock the house…..Sending you much love from Jerusalem (Al-Quds) Abu Farweh is signing off for the moment.

27. 27 Kapoo Jun 23rd, 2004 at 5:03 pm

I agree with u Abu Farweh that abeer will drop out when they sing tarab.

28. 28 dude Jun 23rd, 2004 at 5:54 pm

The reason I don’t think Abdel Rahman will leave next week is because all of his fans will vote like crazy for him after seeing him in the bottom 2 last week, but eventually he’ll still end up leaving. We’ve seen this happen a few times in America also.

29. 29 Firas Jun 23rd, 2004 at 5:55 pm

Peace to all ;)
First, thanks Zlatkot for ur efforts, about ur question on Wadee3 Alsafi’s song, I believe it is called “Jeena Nis2al Khatirkom”. For Abbood’s question on tirghalli, I have no clue :) Never asked myself that question, looks more like a name, but what is the story behind it God knows :)
Now to the important part I guess. The ranks. I am going only focus on those I believe to be the top 5. For the rest I don’t care who gets kicked out first.
5-Raneem or Abdul Ra7man
4-Abeer Ni3me
3-1 The Golden Trio

Don’t get me wrong here, I know that H. Chami is better than Raneem or Abdul Rahman. bit behold the power of voting. I am afraid we are going to see some rediculous results in the next few weeks so Allah yostor. Egypt has now one candidate and so is the gulf area and this might have great influence on the results, noting that a lot will vote based on nationality rather than voice. Lebanese candidates in such condition will suffer the most, I believe, yet still hoping Abeer will survive all of this. I believe she deserves the 4th rank after the trio more than any other candidate. H. Chami did show some talent but he wasn’t very consistant at it otherwise I would’ve chosen him over Abeer.
To the trio. this one is really hard, and will crtically be based on thier performances, the audiences won’t tolerate any mistakes and I am sure the competition will be so fierce which should bring us a great show. Mohannad, as we say it in Arabic slang knows how to “yshayish il jomhoor” he can get them up and dancing so easily and he is betting on that in his selections so far. Madanieh doesn’t go by the book at all. Got a great talent but loves to experiment and new stuff. Too risky but we will see where he will be taking us. Ammar, although lacks the looks or charisma of Mohannad or Madanieh, he is solely betting on his voice. Obviously he seems to be conservative or “jaddi kteer” which won’t bring him much votes from the young/teen voters. regardless of the results, as long these trio get to the finals I won’t care much about the order, the show will definitly rock then, if any of them gets kicked out any earlier, for me it will be all waste of time. Sorry for the long comment and peace ;)

30. 30 Abbood Jun 24th, 2004 at 2:23 am

I just watched extra… huge difference since the exit of Wa3d… the environment is much friendlier now. I like Wa3d’s voice, but I think the show is much better without her.

31. 31 Abu Farweh Jun 24th, 2004 at 8:42 am

My fellow music critics;

I agree with Abboud that Superstar Extra showed a more cohesive group now that Wa’ad left. Too bad she had a nice voice but it seems that she had a bit of an ego. I like Abir N’imeh’s attitude, she is a class act and has a very nice smile to match her angelic voice. By now patrons of this forum will not be surprised to know that my favorites are the “Golden Trio” and of AMMAR is number one. Obviously he is not as “cool” as some of the others, that however is quickly forgotten when he steps on the stage and sings. Of course the rest of the Golden Trio has their shortcomings for example H. Madanieh comes off as too arrogant sometimes, Mohannad relies on the ability to energize the crowds, still these three have exceptional talent and I sincerely wish they are the three finalists. They I believe are mature and developed enough in terms of their voices that I sincerely believe they will be a wonderful addition to the rich and proud tradition of Arabic music. The last thing any of us want is another set of clowns who’s success relies solely on half naked women dancing in their video clips. I share Firas’s opinion, if these three leave the contest it is nothing but a waste of time.

Sending you his best wishes from Jerusalem (Al-Quds) Abu Farweh is signing off for the moment.

Zlatkot, since you are a great provider of music do you think you can provide us with the vedio clips of last Sunday’s songs by Mohannad, Ammar and Husam M.

Thanks

35. 35 Bilal Jun 24th, 2004 at 12:41 pm

Look I dont mean to be rude or anything but ive noticed that peoples opinions over here are quite patriotic. Like Abu faraweh who is palestintian obviously supports Ammar rates him xtremly highly and the other syrians over here love Muhhanad. Please guys leave this patriotic issue and please vote on the persons voice . Abeer and Briggie may be Lebanese but they do sing like angels and Abeer surely deserves to be the Superstar
Cya
Ciao
Peace

36. 36 Abu Farweh Jun 24th, 2004 at 3:29 pm

My dear friend Bilal, please check all my previous notes you can see that I clearly acknowledge that Abeer has a very beautiful voice and that is a fact…please check them out. I used the term angelic voice, class act, talented, etc…please check them out. No one is taking away from the talents of any other participant we all give credit when it is due. I think we are all being subjective, everything else becomes a personal preference issue. As a Palestinian sure I would like Ammar to win, but also I like and acknowledge the rest of the exceptional talents. I think all of us would like the best consistant voice to win. Finally my good man and for the record, I have had many friends from around the world including tones from the arab world (Lebanon, the Gulf states, Syria, Egypt, etc.) and had never and will not ever differentiate between people based on nationality.

I send you again Bilal and all other readers my best from Jerusalem (Al-Quds)…… Abu Farweh

37. 37 Abbood Jun 24th, 2004 at 5:26 pm

Zlatkot— you can remove the files… thanks a bunch man.

Abu Farweh, you need to take it easy on Ammar. People here started to hate the dude because of you. Listen carefully to all Ammar songs and you must hear extreme high notes… extreme high notes is the polite way of saying shouting. I don’t know if any of you saw it in the future news, but there was a shouting contest in the States few days ago. Ammar missed a contest he would definitly have won.

To the critics that say Abir doesn’t deserve to win because she can’t sing 6arab or khaleegi. I want to ask a question, actually two questions:

1) Do you consider Fairouz to be a superstar?

if the answer is no, go sleep. if the answer is yes, answer this question:

2) Can Fairouz sing khaleegi?

if the answer is yes, catch up with the people who answered no to the first question. If I was Abir, I would only sing for Fairouz, or like the cute Ghada suggested, Majda Al-Roumi as well. So what if she can only sing Fairouzi songs. This is good enough to make her a superstar. Can “Noisy Ammar” or “Annoying Madaniyya” or “Low-class Muhannad” sing Fairouz like “Classy Abir”? ok… this third question is an extra credit.

38. 38 ghada Jun 24th, 2004 at 9:31 pm

Hi there all..
Ya jame3a.. tawlo balkon shway :) take it easy guys.. :) after all i don’t think this time we are voting for nationalities here, example, i am a lebanese, i love abir nehmeh but i am voting for ammar hasan, the thing is each one of the superstar can’t sing all kinds of music or songs, we only have to give a credit for strong voices like abir, mohanad, houssam m and ammar, not for looks not for nationalities. Abir can get us back to fairouz and majida’s age or maybe asala, 3ammar and houssam and mohannad can take us back to wadih safi, george wassouf and some tarab..but wallahi who the hell is listening to tarab these days ? kilo mashi 3ala nancy ajram and haifa and this guy..issam karika and sha3ban 3abdelrahim, so pls take it easy guys and we thank God that there are some good voices around, and simply vote for your favorite ok? :) :)
abu farweh..wallah ishta2nalak! :) abbooodi thanx pal :) hope the page here will be more vivid with more cool opinions :)

39. 39 ghada Jun 24th, 2004 at 9:36 pm

Abood,
you are right about extra chat, it is a lot better really without wa3d, i was happy she left, she was too arrogant that she kept everybody look too small, and nobody wants a person like this when Aboora is around, yeslamli jamalha abir. Wa3d almost fought with them all, she reminded me somehow by rouwaida last year, she used to say that she isnt showing off, she was just fooling us!
love abboodi

42. 42 Abbood Jun 25th, 2004 at 2:09 am

I voted for Reem Mahrat in her episode. Unfortunately, and unfairly, she was not even in the top 5. Please listen to this voice and let me know what you think:

http://arabic.salmiya.net/songs/super/rm/super17.rm

She is only 16, so I hope she will give it another shot next year. Hopefully people will watch her more closely next time. It’s not fair that a talent like Reem Mahrat will be wasted.

To those of you who say that Hussam Medanieh is arrogant, I agree that he may be a bit cocky sometimes, but don’t make it sound like he thinks he’s the greatest thing in the world. And by the way, wasn’t last year’s Superstar Al-Arab a bit arrogant as well?

Its great reading all your different opinions which you all seem so passionate about. Its great to see the comments are intelligent and well thought out not just emotional nonsense.
The is a point you all seem to be missing in asking the question who should win.
There is a difference between who is the best singer and who will sell th most records.
Last season Diana was by far the best singer over all tpyes of songs. But its obvious that Milhem sold the most CD and will continue to do so. Although he wasn’t the best last season he will go on to be the most sucessful. The point is technically Abeer has the best voice but the big $$$ question is who will sell the most CD.Don’t forget this is what its allabout. The companies want to have the person that makes the most money for them. What do you guys think?
P.S. I am happy to see the judges get more real with their comments. Someone must have pointed out to them that CRITISISM is an important part of the show. But they are still far too soft on bad performances. Someone should email that on the official website. I can’t read Arabic otherwise i would do it.
Joe
