Hello, I would like to share my opinion. I saw your postings above, I agree with most of them. I think that all of the remaining candidates are good enough to be called “artists”, especially if you compare them to some of those who sing today. There are a few points that I’d like to discuss here, I will start by the voting system at superstar because it seems that this is one of the weak points in this program. The jury did their best to choose 83 acceptable candidates from all over the world, they presented them to the arab audience and asked them to vote for the best ones. I don’t have any negative comment on this step of the program, all what I can say is that they really worked hard and did a good job. But the problem is that our arab communities are not mature enough to take the role of the jury, as how they were not good enough in choosing their politicians. This was obvious last year when Nancy Zaabalawi and another girl from Jordan, her name was Maha… something , left the contest while others like Wael Mansour stayed. The Audience have disappointed us once again this year when a poor guy from Syria, called Ussama Nehmeh, another one who was more than excellent called Waad Bahri left early the competition. I would add also Ranim Shaar. It was a pity to see these guys leave early while for example Hussam Shami stayed. Yasmine Husseini was good too, but maybe she was not as good looking as Mustafa for example. So these people were the victims of our immaturity, and shortness of view. They did nothing wrong except trusting our judgement. Honestly speaking, do anyone have a doubt that Wael Mansour’s capabilities in singing were humble? I personally think that anyone from the general population can do better than him. The voters chose him because he was cute !! I think that he was lucky to leave the competition, because if he won, he would have become a very bad artist, same as many of those who sing nowadays, and he would have faced a lot of difficulties selling his CDs. Many of those who chose him, do admit that they only voted for him because he is handsome and cute, they thought that they were doing him a favour, but this was not true, I’m sure he is much better in many other things than singing, why convince him that his voice is enough to become a singer and make him become a looser in the future when he discovers that his CDs are not beeing sold. As they say in arabic “allah sataro”. I don’t believe that Bahri left because she got into a fight with Raneem. Are we here in a court or what? It’s none of our business to decide who’s right or wrong, they can solve their problems without our interference. Does it sound mature when someone who’s got a very nice voice leave the competition because of such a silly reason? Ussama Nehmeh, is a poor guy from syria, he is not handsome, I felt from his first appearance in the program that he belongs to a very humble social level. All what he’s got is his excellent voice. It seems that this wasn’t enough. Ranin Shaar, was excellent too. Ruwayda Atiyeh was about to leave last year because of something silly that she said and because people didn’t like her smile! I don’t believe this happened. It would be a better idea to let someone more professional than us participate in the vote, I would suggest that the jury’s opinion make 50% of the vote, because we prooved that we really need help in the way we choose. People who vote for a candidate who doesn’t deserve votes just take it as if they are beeing nice to this candidate, I would like them to think of what they are doing, in another way, “just think that you are doing harm to those who really deserve to be voted for”.
