Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 1 : The Results

Last night we knew the results of the voting for the first prime.

A lot of stress and fear in the air, and it even passed on to us.

So, the way it goes is: a number of candidates who got the lowest voting are called to the danger zone, and then the ones with the highest voting among the ones in the danger zone are sent back to the Safe zone while the 2 who are left leave the show.

Last night, the following candidates were called into the danger zone:

- Ranin Sha’ar
- Abd El Rahman Mohamed
- Yasmeen El Husseini
- Rania Shaaban
- Mohamed Daoud

And, the 2 candidates who got the lowest votes and left us yesterday were:

- Rania Shaaban
- Yasmeen El Husseini

It’s a shame to see them leave, especially Yasmeen as she has a great voice.
I think she deserved to stay more than a couple of other candidates.

Anyway, that’s all for this week.
Can’t wait for the next prime.

I agree with you that Yasmeen deserves to stay longer. Maybe not win it all, but for sure she is easily among the top 8 at least.

I think the only reason she didn’t make it is b/c she is Egyptian, and not too many Egyptians can afford to vote. Of course she is not as hot as Briget, so she won’t get many votes out of Egypt either. She is just unlucky and I feel that a great talent was just wasted.

Plzzzzzzzzzzz people, vote for the best no matter where he/she is from. The show in the States is at risk because black singers don’t get as many votes as the white singers just b/c of their color. We don’t want to face the same situation here by voting for a country man instead of the real talent.

Yes it’s such a shame that Yasmeen had to leave, It’s so unfair. But I guess it’s not because Egyptians couldn’t afford to vote, I think it’s more because there were 2 other Egyptians that got the voting from their country maybe. And I agree that voting should be for nothing but the talent. And in my personal opinion Raneem should’ve left and not Yasmeen.

i am an egyptian but think yasmeen had to leave while rania should have stayed, rania has amazing voice and sang gar7 tany very good while yasmeen could have good voice but made many mistakes while singing angham song.

Well, I personally believe that she made the wrong choice by singing seedi wisalak. The rhythm of the song is just not really very nice. When she sang maba`ash ana for Asala, I thought that she had a chance to win it all. I just loved the way she sang that song, but last night I felt that she would last half way only (top 8-9).

However, I can’t blame her exit on the selection of the song. Zahi sang Aloush for God’s sake and he made it. When I listened to it last night, I said this guy just committed suicide by singing this song and he is definitely out. It’s not just he survived, but it seems that people loved that song from him. I guess people just have different tastes.

Eman, you make a valid point. However, there are like 10 from Syria and Lebanon and they all stayed.

Anyway, they are all good and any of them could win it all. After Yasmeen, I think I will start voting for Ayman or maybe Abeer.

  5. 5 MMM Jun 1st, 2004 at 3:26 pm

Zahi sang Hobbak Khayal. It was Muhannad Mshallah who sang Alloush.

And actually, I was one of the people who liked it.
I think he made the song a lot better.

Of course it was a very risky move, but he took it and it paid off.

I think he has a great voice and is a lot better than some of the others.
He deserves to pass on to more advanced stages.

As for Yasmeen, I agree that her rendition of maba`ash ana was amazing. I liked the song more than I would from Asala herself.
Yes, I think she was that good.

As for Seedi Wisalak, she did a good job with it too, and I don’t see any reason why people didn’t vote for her.
    It’s a shame.

My faves currently are Hussam Madaniyyeh, Muhannad Mshallah and Ammar Hassan.

i didnt mind that yasmeen or the other girl left.they just didnt seem like they had star quality.Dont get me wrong they were both very nice girls but i think that this is going to be a guys competition.i definetly know that abeer is not going to go all the way bridget will be in the top 5 but i want hussam al shami and ammar alhassan to get through also amon and mustafa all4 are very cute guys with great voices.

  7. 7 Ruby Jun 2nd, 2004 at 9:07 am

I have to agree totally with Yasmeen’s having a bad luck to leave this early . Her version of Asala’s was SO on point and touching . And if there is anyone I,d want to be out , it’s this Moustafa Showekh dude . UGH .. Fake ass dude with a SO much acting attitude it’s stupid .

Something also I didn’t like at all and thought was pretty stupid was when Abd El Rahman Mohamed
from Saudi Arabia started to cry before the results were even announced . what the hell ?! I just bursted out laughing because it was so funny how he had his pack of tears ready ” rolls eyes ” .

Another one who gets on my nerves now is Hussam Madania . He sounds good..but please someone tell him he’s aint cute with all the screaming . Everytime he opens his mouth , it’s all about the screams and high notes ..and this is no singing . And also tell him yebatal yestazraf .

LOL . Sorry guys…I just needed to vent SO bad lol but all in all Im enjoying the show and the songs , and Im glad to have found this site to share this with all of you :)

I have posted all 18 mp3s from the first “prime” as you call it here:
    http://www.idolonline.org/music11a.htm

I’m still waiting on the names for the songs of the 2nd round if someone can PLEASE help!

    mail me zlatkofans@yahoo.com.au

I personally think voice wise Houssam Madanieh was the best, but by performance I think Mohannad Mouchalah rules them all! :P

  9. 9 Abbood Jun 2nd, 2004 at 1:23 pm

Ruby— I agree with you on everything you said. I have to lower the volume by 50% whenever Husam sings. Abdul Rahman, even though he is a fellow countryman, but the guy is so soft I wouldn’t vote for him. Another thing that is pissing me off is the reaction of the people to Aloush’s song. Plz guys, is this really a song? I won’t be surpirsed to see the rest start singing for Hakeem and Adawiyya in the next episodes. This Shuwayyikh guy is obsessed with Abdul Haleem that he is even trying to act like him. His act of being romantic is so fake and it’s obvious as Ruby mentioned.

I still can’t believe that Yasmeen is out. I saw her last night on Extra. She mentioned that she regrets her selection of the song. The song just didn’t show the capabilities of her voice. She should have selected a difficult song to sing like she did in round two. Non of the rest could have sang Mab`ash Ana the way she did. Some people think that she did it even better than Asala herself. I personally agree with that. Anyway, she seems determined to continue in the singing career. I hope she does, I really do.

hiiiii to all, i agree with some opinions, but i want to say the Syrian singers are really desreve to be the top 4, there voices are amazing, but there are other beutiful voices like Ayman and Abdelrahman, Brigitte, and Ammar.
finally, to arabs, vote to the one that has best look, performance, and voice, to be our superstar

  11. 11 Gosgos Jun 4th, 2004 at 1:33 pm

hiiiii , I really want arabs to vote for the best voice, look, and performance. plzzzzzz
thankx to allll who vote for Syrian singers.

  12. 12 bassole Jun 7th, 2004 at 1:25 am

Abir is the new Super Star ( 2004). She is the best.

  13. 13 beeho Jun 7th, 2004 at 3:13 am

I don’t agree for voting on looks or nationality. Unfortunately, I think the program keeps emphasizing on the nationalities of the singers. Even Elias ElRahbany keeps asking the country of origin to vote for the person, which makes it seem like the expectation that only that country would vote.

I don’t really like Brigite Yaghi. I think she has an ok voice but gets votes due to looks rather than voice. That’s NOT fair.

My personal favorites, purely on voice, are Ammar, Mustafa Chweikh, Abeer, Raneem Quoteit, and Hady Aswad. I think these should be the top5.

The others may be ok, but I’d especially not vote for Brigitte, Husam Shamy, Husam madaneya, Raneen, or Wa3d.

And i need some picture for him..
PLZZZZZZ help me and send itr to my email:

    Thanks :)

  15. 15 Aman Jun 14th, 2004 at 10:45 pm

Come on guys…we gotta be fair. Hands down all the syrians and Abir have had the best voices. I’m actually very surprised that Ayman has so many fans. I think he has such an obnoxious personality and does not stand out that much talent wise. I was more than shocked by the voting today. Mohaned almost got kicked off!! And Wa’ed who had a beautiful voice..Elias especially saw that, was kicked off. I can’t believe the guy from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are still there and Wa’ed isn’t. People need to really listen for the good talent and not vote by country. Remember, we want to buy the album for the best singer, don’t you want good music!! Vote for Mohaned and Hosam al Madinya. I can’t believe people here don’t like him…Hosam has such a powerful voice few people can top.

  16. 16 Aman Jun 14th, 2004 at 10:53 pm

I personally loved when Mohaned did Aloush. He def did a great job and got the audience going. I think it takes a lot of guts to sing something different like that, and if you can make a song like that sound great, then you have real talent. Also, I do think Hady Aswad has talent and that he is not here solely on looks, especially after last night when he sang Wadi AlSafi’s song, he did a great job and proved that he has talent and is not just on because he is Shady’s brother or good looking. And we def Wa’ed, she deserved better than to be kicked off so soon!

  17. 17 ramrum Jun 22nd, 2004 at 5:54 pm

About me i LOVE Hady Aswad ..i think he has all the qualifications tht can help him to reach and be a superstar..so plz people here vote for him he really deserves..thnx:)Hady has a great voice so plz focus on him and vote..

  18. 18 Rain Jun 23rd, 2004 at 9:34 pm

To be honest, I think the 2 strongest contenders are Abdel-Rahman & Housam Madanieh. They have beautiful voices and I would like to see the finals between these two.

After the 2 above, my other favorites are:
    Raneem
    Ayman
    Abeer
    Mohannad

With all due respect, Housam Shami & Hadi are just staying on because they have the looks, and Brigitte because she is their friend. Brigitte should not even be participating in this competition: she is too young. As to Ammar, I think he shouts and does not sing (you can see all the way down his digestive system when he is supposedly “singing”). He’s stayed on because he’s getting a lot of votes from Palestinians.

It’s sad when this competition takes on a nationalistic/looks turn as opposed to who has the voice. If people vote fairly, I think Housam Madanieh is the next superstar.

  19. 19 Sherine Jun 26th, 2004 at 5:25 am

I LOVE Mustafa and Abdel Rahman. i also like Ayman, Ranim, and Mohammad. i feel sorry for all who lost and all who will loose. i espically feel sad for Mustafa and Mohammad. I think that the way Abdel Rahman is so sensative is very cute. it means he has a good heart. I also think its cute the way that Mustafa loves Abdel Haleem so much. its also cute when he acts. Ammar, Abed, and Hussam M. have the best voices. I don’t like brigete. she is all up in Hussam Shami’s butt. i like most all of the people in superstar and i wish them all the best.

It’s sad, Houssam Madanieh was kicked off, he had the best voice of them all. This shows clearly that people are not voting for talent or performance. oh another thing, Abir is only good for opera, or classic arab songs. I’m glad she is gone, she should have been out along time ago.

  21. 21 souhaila Aug 4th, 2004 at 3:53 pm

I am so saad that Brigit left the competition. it’s realy not fun anymore without any girl. I think that Brigit is a complete star she’s got the voice, the looks and the intelligence to choise her songs. Seriously lebaneese people should be realy proud. She’s gone this far and she’s only 16. Teanagers shauld be also proud. it’s realy great to follow young talent from the very bigining.
But it realy bugs me when people say that she and Hadi are guetting votes because of there looks, because it is no true. For me a compleete superstar would be someone that has the voice , but who also should be presentable posessing a great personality just like Hadi and Brigit. and i also think that some people are being to racist over Brigit. I mean what is wrong if a girl has boys as friends????
And finally please voters for brigit please vote for Hadi.
