Future Arab SuperStar - Season 5

The casting phase for the new fifth season of our favorite singing talent tv show has begun and the search is well under way for good contestants to take part in the competition.

The search began in the Northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, and will be continuing in Lebanon and throughout several other countries/cities, among which we find Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt and Iraq; as the judges look for and select the most talented singers.

This year we won’t be having Aymen Kaysouni as the show host, but instead there will be two new hosts who are: Egyptian SuperStar 1 contestant Wael Mansour and Lebanese TV show host Majdala Khattar.

There will also be a small change in the panel of judges: This year they will be Elias Al-Rahbani, Abdullah Al-Gaoud, Ziad Boutros and Egyptian vocal instructor Jehan Al-Naser.

Marwan Ali From Tunisia Is Arab SuperStar 2007

The results of the final prime of the fourth season of Arab SuperStar aired last night on Future TV, announcing who the winner of this season is.

All the 13 contestants who made it to the finals came back for this episode and the show kicked off with them all singing a group song: “Shukran Ya Arab”.

After that each one of the two finalists sang an individual song, one they performed before and that touched the audience most this season:

Saad Lemjarred (Morocco): Ala Babi Wa’ef Amarein (Milhem Barakat)
Marouen Ali (Tunisia): Sayyajna Libnan (Wadi’ El Safi)

Then the 13 contestants sang a medley of songs they performed throughout this season of SuperStar.

And finally the winner was announced, and it was: Marouen Ali from Tunisia.

SuperStar Marouen Ali then performed Feirooz’s song “Khabtet Adamkom” which was another of the songs that stood out from this season of SuperStar.

The 13 contestants will be going on a tour around the Arab world; Dates and places will be announced in the near future.

I’m very happy with the result for once; Marouen truly deserved it the most from all the contestants who made it to the finals. He passed to the finals from the “Last Chance” episode, but worked hard and got better with every prime, totally deserving the title of Arab SuperStar 2007.

SuperStar 4 - The Final

The final prime of season four of Arab SuperStar aired last night on Future TV. The star guest of this episode was Lebanese star Assi Hilani, who performed a number of his songs throughout the show.

Marouen’s parents and Saad’s wife “Thameen” were present in the audience in this episode.

The show kicked off with the two finalists singing a medley of Assi Hilani’s songs.

As for the contestants’ songs, each contestant performed three songs and one duet, here’s the list of the individual performances:

Saad Lemjarred (Morocco):
- Abdelqader (Maghreb Heritage)
- Ba’eed Annak (Om Kolthoum)
- El Laylo Ya Layla (Wadi El Safi)

Marouen Ali (Tunisia):
- Ana Elli Alaiki Moshta’ (Joseph Saqr)
- Sidi Mansour (Tunisian heritage)
- Ala Eini Ya Habbet Eini (Warda)

As for the duet between the two finalists, it was:
Eini (Hisham Abbas + Hameed El Shairi)

Only one contestant will be crowned Arab SuperStar today, depending on your votes. Personally, I think Marouen deserves it the most, but again it’s up to you all to decide.

SuperStar 4 - Finals - Prime 10 Results

The results for the tenth prime of the Arab SuperStar 4 finals were just announced on Future TV.

The first contestant to pass to the finals was Marouen Ali (Tunisia); leaving the other two in the danger zone.

The contestant who had to leave the show this week was:
- Yosra Mahnoush (Tunisia)

I was expecting either Saad or Yosra to leave, although I hoped the final would be between Marouen Ali and Yosra Mahnoush, anyway good luck to Yosra in her career, she has a great voice and deserves all the best.

So, the final show of this season of SuperStar is next week, and the competition will be a tight one between:
- Marouen Ali (Tunisia)
- Saad El Mjarred (Morocco)

Good luck to both of them; But honestly, in my opinion, Marouen Ali deserves the title by far.

The star guest of the show will be Lebanese star Assi Hilani.

SuperStar 4 - Finals - Prime 10

The tenth prime of the finals of Arab SuperStar 4 on Future TV aired last night. The star guest of this episode was Egyptian star Ehab Tawfeek, who performed two of his songs throughout the show.

I think the show was recorded from last week and not live, mainly because they didn’t put the “Live” label on and because there was no mention of the delay or of the events that happened last week.

The show kicked off with the candidates singing a medley of Ehab Tawfeek’s songs.

As for the contestants’ individual songs, each contestant performed two songs and two duets, here’s the list of the individual performances:

Saad Lemjarred (Morocco):
- Ya Leil El Ashi’een (George Wassouf)
- Tayer Ya Hawa (Mohammad Roshdi)

Yusra Mahnoush (Tunisia):
- Bahibbak Mout (Ahlam)
- El Asami (Dhikra)

Marouen Ali (Tunisia):
- Amana Aleik (Karem Mahmoud)
- Khabtet Adamkom (Feirooz)

“Tamally Maak” on Bulgarian Music Idol

Here is a fun little post to divert our attention away from final 3 of Super Star 4, contestant Kremena Dimitrova from Dobrich, Bulgaria has performed the popular song “Tamally Maak” by Amr Diab recently on May 14 Top 5 performance show of Music Idol - the Bulgarian version of Super Star where the theme for that night was “Foreign & Local Hits”

Needless to say it was an awful performance and Kremena was actually eliminated on the same night hehe! She could have chosen a better arabic song but she is the first contestant outside of Super Star to actually sing an arabic song on the show!

Super Star 4 - Prime 9 Results

The results for the ninth prime of the Arab SuperStar 4 finals were announced last night on Future TV.

All the contestants were called into the danger zone, and the contestant who had to leave the show this week was:
- Ahmad Hussein (Lebanon)

I was expecting Ahmed to go, so it didn’t come as much of a surprise to me, good luck to him in his career.

So, now the golden triangle is made up of:
- Yosra Mahnoush (Tunisia)
- Marouen Ali (Tunisia)
- Saad El Mjarred (Morocco)

Next week in addition to the individual songs the contestants will be performing duets, and the star guest of the show will be Egyptian star Ehab Tawfik.

The show kicked off with the candidates singing a medley of Carole Samaha’s songs.

Super Star 4 - Prime 8 Results

I was expecting Ahmed to go just based on the past episode even though I really enjoy his voice, but I know Rihab was on shaky ground ever since her first eliminated - good luck to her in the future.
