Finally, the Arab Superstar 2 Album

After a long wait and many postponements due to several reasons, the most important of them being the assassination of PM Rafik Hariri, the Superstar 2 album is finally here. It will be released on July 14th and will have 16 songs by all the finalists except Ayman El A'tar. The album will be called "Wa Ibtada El Mishwar" (And the journey begins). A concert will be aired on the Future TV satellite channel on the same day, in which the finalists will perform their individual songs before going on to release their full albums....

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 13 : The Result

So, the results of SuperStar were on last night while we were on our plane to Jordan, and I only got to know the results today. And well Ayman El Aatar from Libya won the title. As I said last time, both finalists were really good, but I personally was more inclined to Ammar winning. Anyway, Ayman was very good too and I'm not that pissed because he won :P Was great following this show, and I can't wait for next year. I also can't wait for the music the 17 candidates will be releasing especially people like Muhannad Mshallah,...

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 13 : The Final

The final episode of SuperStar 2004 just ended on Future TV, leaving us to vote and decide who the Arab SuperStar for this year will be. The results will be announced next week on Sunday. This episode as usual was another great one and both finalists did a wonderful job giving beautiful performances. My vote will go to Ammar, but Ayman was really great too. They showed the trip to Libya and how much people turned up and how it seemed like all Libya was there. Next week, all 17 candidates who got to the finals will be at the...

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 12 : The Results

The results for the 12th prime were announced yesterday and only 2 people are left for next week's final. And the candidate who had to leave was: - Hadi Aswad (Syria) I expected this, and everyone too. He reacted very well to it because he too expected it and was ready to hear it. He was cool about it, which was nice. Hadi has been the candidate who has been improving the most and I salute him for that. So, next week the final will be a showdown between Ammar and Ayman. There is no way to base any expectation...

So another episode of SuperStar was on last night on Future TV, but I wasn't able to catch it yesterday because I was at a concert. So I'm hoping to catch the re-run today and enjoy it and then maybe post some more about it. Anyway, for the time being, I'd really appreciate it if you guys tell me what to expect in this episode. And I'll be posting a bit later about the concert I went to, which was awesome....

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 11 : The Results

Future TV is back for me, and the results for the 11th prime were just announced. And... The following candidates were called into the danger zone, as I expected: - Ranim Qoteit (Egypt) - Hadi Aswad (Syria) And the candidate who had to leave today was: - Ranim Qoteit (Egypt) Something I also expected, although it's a big shame to see him go. Next will be Hadi Aswad, leaving Ammar and Ayman to battle it out for the final. The candidates will be visiting Syria this week as part of their Arab tour. The guest next week will be: Mueen...

As Future TV is not working for me or for anyone here in Tunisia for some unknown reason, I missed another episode of SuperStar :( Maybe our receivers are mad at the fact that Muhannad left the show, coz we stopped receiving Future TV ever since. Only 4 candidates are left and one of them is leaving tomorrow, and this couldn't be worse time for Future TV to be unavailable for us fans of the show. I'm truly counting on you guys to comment and let me know everything that went on in the show. Thank you all in advance...

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 10 : The Results

The results for the 10th prime were just announced. And... The following candidates were called into the danger zone: - Ranim Qoteit (Egypt) - Brigitte Yaghi (Lebanon) And the candidate who had to leave today was: - Brigitte Yaghi (Lebanon) Just as I expected. It's about time she left. It's a shame to see Ranim in the danger zone though. I guess this means that we could be seeing him leave next week :( So now we have our four finalists: Ammar, Ayman, Hadi & Ranim. Just as I wrote in one of my comments, even though this Superstar season...

It's a shame I wasn't able to watch the episode today :( Future TV doesn't work for me for some reason. Anyway, I heard it was a great episode and that the contestants all did a great job with the exception of Ayman. I hope to hear more from all you Superstar fans about it and about how the candidates did, what songs they sang, who the guest was, ...etc. In short, please tell us everything. Even though I didn't watch today's episode. My expectations for tomorrow are that Brigitte will leave. I hope we don't have any other bad...

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 9 : The Results

The results for the 9th prime were just announced. Another disastrous and shocking result. This is totally unreally unfair! The following candidates were called into the danger zone: - Ranim Qoteit (Egypt) - Muhannad Mshallah (Syria) - Brigitte Yaghi (Lebanon) And the candidate who had to leave today was: - Muhannad Mshallah (Syria) This is so unfair and bad. I was kind of expecting it, but didn't want to believe it could happen, but it did. Muhannad and Brigitte stood side by side and Muhannad had to leave. That's total bullshit. If Houssam leaving was bad, this is so so...

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 9

Today's episode kicked off with a medley of Diana Haddad's songs with each of the 6 contestants singing a part of a song. It was weird not seeing Housam Madaniyyah with the guys, and even weirder to see how only 6 candidates were left. As with last week, each candidate sang 2 songs. My favourites from this episode were: - Muhannad Mshallah (Syria) - Ammar Hassan (Palestine) - Ranim Qoteit (Egypt) And as for who I think should leave, it's Brigitte Yaghi. Ayman and Hadi actually did better than her in this episode....

Future Arab Superstar : Finals : Prime 8 : The Results

The results for the 8th prime were just announced, and they're the biggest shock as yet. The results were totally unfair, and I can't believe what just happened. The following candidates were called into the danger zone: - Brigitte Yaghi (Lebanon) - Housam Madaniyyah (Syria) - Muhannad Mshallah (Syria) Seeing Muhannad and Housam in the danger zone again was a big shock on it's own, but nothing compared to the shock of who had to leave. The candidate who had to leave today was: - Housam Madaniyyah (Syria) I can't believe Housam had to leave while people like Brigitte, Hadi...

Another great episode of SuperStar just ended. This one was for modern Arab songs and the guest was Shireen. The episode started off with a medley of Shireen's songs, and then each candidate sang 2 songs. My favourites from this episode were: - Muhannad Mshallah (Syria) - Housam Madaniyyah (Syria) - Raneem Quteit (Egypt) - Ammar Hassan (Palestine) In the video segment before each performance, they asked the candidates to try and write a song and sing it. Raneem's song was my favourite from all the candidate's songs....

The results of the voting for yesterday's episode of SuperStar were just announced. And man were they a shock. The following candidates were called into the danger zone: - Housam Madaniyyeh - Syria - Muhannad Mshallah - Syria - Abd El Rahman Mohamed - KSA - Abeer Ni'meh - Lebanon That is just unbelievable! Another episode of SuperStar was on Future TV last night. The guest was Nawal from Kuwait, and the whole episode was Gulf music flavoured as all the candidates had to sing Khaleeji (Gulf) songs. The episode kicked off with a medley of Nawal's songs which set the tone for what was to be a great episode. Yesterday, all the contestants were truly amazing and did a great job. It'll be real hard choosing who to vote for. As nobody was voted out last week, they'll be making up for it this week by dropping two contestants out. Ouch! Anyway my...

Yet another episode of SuperStar on Future TV last night, a great one too I must add. In last night's episode, the guest was Assalah, who surely showed who her favourite candidate was. But well I'll get to that later. There is no voting for this episode because Abeer Ni'meh wasn't in it. Her dad is ill and she had to leave to be with him. Last night the results of the voting for the fifth prime were announced. They were sort of a shock, as the result was totally unexpected for me. Last night, the following candidates were called into the danger zone: - Housam Shami - Lebanon - Abd El Rahman Mohamed - KSA - Abeer Ni'meh - Lebanon And the candidate who had to leave was: - Housam Shami - Lebanon I honestly thought Abd El Rahman would be leaving, not because I don't like him, in fact I think he's really good and I have some other people who I think should...

So, last night, I got the Future TV signal back to normal and we were able to watch SuperStar again. And well, it was great fun. In last night's episode, there wasn't just one guest, there were four. The 4 finalists from last years SuperStar: Diana Karazon, Ruweida Atiyya, Milhem Zein and Saoud Abu Sultan. The episode started with this year's candidates singing a medley of last year's 4 finalists' songs. It was nice, but for some reason not all the candidates remembered the lyrics by heart. Last night, the first episode of the final stage of the arab SuperStar started on Future TV. And before I get into any further details, I have to say WOW. It rocked. The set was really cool, different from the French show set, similar to the set of the German version of the show. The 17 candidates opened up with a song called "Ghannou Ma'na" (Sing with us) which was really great. And then each candidate came out and sang a song on his own. It was one hell of a show.
