  1. I don’t wish to upset anyone but I understood that Tunisians didn’t consider themselves as an Arab nation, nor an African nation, but as one of the nations of the Maghreb whose people are quite different to any other. My husband becomes very upset if he thinks I’m classing Tunisians as either African (which could be correct geographically) or Arabic (which could be correct linguistically). I do know that there’s dispute over whether Tunisian is a subset of Arabic but that’s another debate.

  2. @Napo: I’d like to see you try flying off the CN Tower 😛 Just kidding 🙂 As long as you believe, you can do anything.

    @Lamine: Belief is one of the strongest powers a human has.

    @Sami: I believe in Tunisia… As for Tunisians, I believe in some of them, unfortunately not all of them.

    @Venus: very well said.

    @Muh’d: Well we are an Arab nation, nothing can change that, it’s a reality, but the reality also is that we’re a seperated Arab nation, and nothing will change that until we do.

    @mrschaieb: Well, that’s not the view held by all Tunisians, although it’s becoming quite popular these days. It’s a trend all over the Arab world, even Egyptians are Pharaohs not Arabs, Lebanese are Phoenicians not Arabs, …etc. I guess it’s because people see no pride left in being an Arab.
    As for myself, well I’m a Tunisian of Arab descent; I’m proud of being a Tunisian and I’m proud of being an Arab.
