The Lord Of The Rings Online - Shadows Of Angmar
A new interesting game is out, aiming to eat away at World of Warcraft's domination of the MMORPG market, and it goes by the name: The Lord Of The Rings Online - Shadows Of Angmar.
I guess the name says it all; it's simply a multi-player game, read online middle-earth, based on the amazing trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien.
You get to create a unique character that can be either a Man, Elf, Dwarf or Hobbit; you choose what class you want it to be from (Champion, Guardian, Burglar, Captain, Hunter, Minstrel, or Lore-master), and where it hails from, his/her skin, hair, eye color, and more; and you equip yourself with all the items you need like sturdy Dwarven armor, intricate Elven mail, or weapons created with the knowledge of past Ages.
Then you can join with the Fellowship to fight against the forces of Sauron, confront the forces of the Nazgûl Witch-king in the North, protect the Shire and root out evil on Weathertop.
A Google Maps version of Middle-earth will also be available to players. Your character will get his or her own page on the game’s official website, with the ability to blog it. The site will also feature an online Wiki encyclopedia about the LOTR Online world.
The game is currently accepting signups for its beta phase. So if you're interested in journeying through Middle-earth, meeting the different characters of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and battling a bunch of deadly enemies, this is the place to go: The Lord Of The Rings Online - Shadows Of Angmar.

BillQ: Track Your Bills OnlineSalaam, I am curentlz beta-testing the game and i gotta say its not as good as i expected it to be :-( it"s not much different from current MMORPGs, except that controls are messy (WASD and a terrible camera) and quests are - at least in the beginning barely interesting - lets hope they"ll improve.
Posted by: GamerForSale at February 2, 2007 01:40 PMAfter the film - i can't see why would be the need to create these games- to make money ofcourse.
I will stick to my Lord of Rings, because it just like Lotr but better in many sense but i don't endor the need of these Lotr games poping here and there and everywhere.
Peace
