Third International Photography Meetups
The Third International Photography Meetups will be held, from Friday July 15th to Monday July 18th, in Ghar El Melh (Tunisia), in the third fortress near the old port.
Their goal is to accentuate and develop exchanges between photography professionals and amateurs, as well as between the adult and young audiences of this art.
The programme of this edition showcases works from a score of Tunisian photographers (Hamideddine Bouali, Marianne Catzaras, Nicolas Fauqué, Faten Gaddès, Jallel Gastli), as well as works from about fifteen foreign artists including: Bernard Guillot (France); Xavier de Luca (Spain); Erkut Onart (Turkey); Jonathan Beacom (Malta).
The meetups will include round table discussions and debates in the Photographers' Café as well as several different workshops. Digital photography will be the subject of a workshop under the name "Pixelmania".
The evenings will be devoted to photography topics with the projection of slides and documentaries. Many guests and photography professionals will be taking part in these activities.
Finally, there'll be a photo contest organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Social Affairs on the topic of solidarity in Tunisia.
I think this is really cool; It should be a lot of fun.
I just might go check it out on my way to or back from the beach of Sidi Ali El Mekki there.
