The Number Of The Beast

Hmmm…

A newly discovered fragment of the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament indicates that, as far as the Antichrist goes, theologians, scholars, heavy metal groups, and television evangelists have got the wrong number. Instead of 666, it’s actually the far less ominous 616.

So?!
Why am I even blogging about this?
Well it reminds me of something, that’s why. It reminds me of a hit song from the 90’s called “Alarma” by a group called 666.
I never really liked the song, but still I have a somewhat unforgettable story with it.

Some years ago, I bought this new mix tape with all the recent hits and stuff. I was driving around with a friend of mine, listening to the music, and enjoying a really nice Tunisian summer afternoon. After a while the song “Alarma” came on and just seconds into the song BAM!!!, this car came out of nowhere and we crashed into each other head on. Damn!!!

Fast forward to a year later or so. Eman, My wife (wife-to-be back then), and I were having lunch in one of the fast food places in front of the university, and as we were leaving the place, we heard the song.
After that, I went home and she went to turn in some papers she was translating. I then remembered what happened to me the last time I heard the song, and got very worried about Eman, but then I thought to myself “Nah! Don’t be too superstitious”.
Just a few minutes later though, I got a call from her telling me that she just had a car accident!!

So, in the end, whether the number of the beast is 666 or 616, I don’t really care, all I know is that damned song is one that I hate to hear!

Ah, and those papers I worked day and night to translate and get done on time were never turned in!
