Spammer Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison

Yes, yes, yes!!!

A man convicted in the US’s first felony case against illegal spamming was sentenced to nine years in prison Friday for bombarding Internet users with millions of junk e-mails.

A jury had recommended the nine-year term for the Raleigh, N.C., man.

Jeremy Jaynes, 30, who was considered among the top 10 spammers in the world at the time of his arrest, used the Internet to peddle pornography and sham products and services such as a “FedEx refund processor,” prosecutors said.

Jaynes was convicted in November for using false Internet addresses and aliases to send mass e-mail ads through an AOL server in Loudoun County.

Spammers truly deserve to be thrown into jail for what they do. In fact, if it were up to me, they deserve to rot in hell too.

Anyway, I hope other spammers learn from this and stop sending us their shitty emails about Viagra, organ enlargement and getting out of debt.

Oh and one last thought, I wish this guy gets stuck with one huge horny cellmate, who especially hates spammers. Ouch! ๐Ÿ˜›

  1. Firas, lol, come on, they deserve it ๐Ÿ˜›

Omar, makers of spyware and adware deserve a lot more. Let me not get into the graphic details, lol.

Roba, when you look at it now, you think 9 years for sending a few unwanted emails, that’s too much. But then, you go to your inbox and find that you have 300 spam emails out of 302, and you want people like this to feel a lot of pain.

    Jenn, I despise them too.
I should be made responsible for punishing these people. then and only then would spam, spyware and adware stop ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. What about who pay them? who asked them for this service? Why the companies who hired them are not sued? Do you think the spammers do this for fun not for money?

I recall there was a law proposal in the US to sue the companies for which we receive an ad in a spam. But I don’t know what happend then.

A word about spyware and adware, they are not really a “spam” as you are supposed to know of their existance. When you download a software for free, you usually don’t read the license agreement that says clearly that you agree to install the adware and spyware. So it is your fault, at the end.

I’m not defending adware or spyware. But, for example before downloading any software I check if there is any spyware or adware within the software. And in all cases there are many software that remove adware!

  3. I persnnaly think that 9 years are to exagerated, come on man 9 years !!!! you imagine !!
and it was a very funny last thought ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Well yeah, I do use a software to get rid of adware, but it wasn’t until after having to uninstall multiple programs from my computer that I finally got one. It’s true that I should read the disclaimer I suppose, but really, not everyone does line for line or at all even. If I want to download a software, I only want to download THAT software. I really should find out which programs were including adware so that I’d tell people to stay away from them. I don’t care if there’s a disclaimer on there. It’s still misleading and a bit underhanded.

And about the SPAM. SEND THEM ALL TO JAIL! haha! I agree that those companies doing the ads should be responsible also.

  5. Satchel, spammers and the companies who pay them should be punished for it.
And as for spyware and adware, at first they said nothing in the license agreements or TOS, they just put in their spyware and adware. And then when people found out and got pissed and they became required by law to put it, they kept trying to conceal and disguise it as much as possible. So it’s not all that obvious to everyone, especially people who are not too tech-savvy.

Drako, so you too think that 9 years is too much. Ok what about a minute in jail for every spam email he sent? That seems fair enough?
That’d turn out more than 9 years, I bet.
