After the First Tunisian Blogger Meetup
We just got home from the first Tunisian Blogger Meetup at Biwa in Les Berges du Lac.
It was a lot of fun and really cool to meet all the bloggers who came. We really wished everyone else could have come too and we remembered the bloggers outside Tunisia too. I hope next time more people will come, including our expats, and we'll have more fun.
We were 16 all in all, a lot more than I expected to show up. So that's really great :)
The following blogs were represented today: Mouse Hunter, Pensées Perdus, Adibs1, Zizou from Djerba, Waleg, AquaCool, Jaz in the city, Infinity, Evil Drako, Chikipi, Whispers, Phoenix Dev, The Soft & Subzero Blue.
We started off by introducing ourselves and how we started blogging. We did this a number of times as new people arrived :P
And then we went into different blog related subjects, such as:
- How often we blog, when, where from.
- How much time we spend reading and writing blogs.
- How blogs have affected our lives.
- Some of our favourite blogs.
- The process of blogging and how we go about it.
- How there are more male Tunisians bloggers than females.
And a bunch of other topics.
Everyone was great and fun to be around. We had a lot of laughs and truly enjoyed every minute of the 3 hours we spent together.
I think this meetup was really good in getting us all to know and feel comfortable around each other, and hopefully future meetups will be more fun and we'll get to talk about other more interesting topics.
I'd like to personally thank everyone for coming. You guys were all great.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all again already :)

We have ours every month on a set date (was first wed now its first thursday) that way it is easier to remember and it is good for us to touch base and get out of the house once a month.

Hopefully, we too will get to that point where we have a set day every month for the meetup. We tested the waters with this one and it was great :)

As for photos, well some photos were taken, but not everyone wants their photo published. So I guess we'll have to check with who wants their photo online and who doesn't before publishing anything.

I hope we'll meet one day, whether it's in Tunisia, Jordan, Bahrain or wherever else in this world.
It was really great meeting everybody. I enjoyed it so much. I was afraid that since we don't know each other we'll end up in a boring meetup. But it was completely the opposite. It was fun, we really laughed a lot and talked about many many topics. And we were A LOT! :) that was the greatest part. And unlike I expected, I didn't have problem understanding all that French spoken in the meetup... yippiee, my French is improving, there were points when I went like: "What the hell was that?" but I'd ask and follow up ;)
Hope to meet all other Tunisian bloggers who couldn't make it this time. Specially you lady bloggers ;)

Karim, I totally agree.
It's great to meet all these Tunisian bloggers. I remember a couple of years ago, we were the only 2 Tunisians blogging from inside Tunisia, and before us Houssein was the only Tunisia blogger period.
