The Truman Show

Yesterday, I got to watch The Truman Show again. This movie has to be one of my favourite movies because I really relate to it.

When I was a child, while other children were worrying about the idea that they could be adopted children, I went a bit further ๐Ÿ˜›
Not only did I worry that I could be adopted, I also worried that my whole life was an act that the whole world was watching.
I suspected that everyone around me was acting and that all the travels we travelled were in the same place with only the sets changing.

Yeah, weird for a child to think that way, but well I did, lol.

Anyway, using logicical thinking, I came to a conclusion that it was not an act. I looked like my parents so there was a big possibility I was their child, and well It was impossible for anyone to change the sets and create a whole other country that fast ๐Ÿ˜›

So that stage didn’t last for too long fortunately. But still when I watched The Truman Show for the first time, I remembered it and I related to the character.

It’s like it’s a movie out of my imagination. That’s why I love it.

  1. You know what’s really weird! I also used to think that my whole life was watched from up above, mastermind or something. I really liked the movie because it really related to my weird thoughts when I was a kid.

    I even had a Weirder thought;
If anyone remembers “Kan ya Makan”. A cartoon that teaches kids about the human body, biology and all that sorta stuff. The blood cells were like creatures moving in a human body. So I thought all human beings on earth could be cells or something or a bigger creature..

  2. Yeah, I know that program. I loved it.

And your thought reminds me of another thought of mine. I used to think that the fact that there is the sun and all the planets revolving around it was like the nucleus and all the electrons revolving around it, and so maybe everything was made up of little energy systems like that and that everything was made up of galaxies and all.
And that maybe there existed tiny intelligent life on those electrons, lol.

  3. When I was a kid, I strangely used to think all objects and things around me appeared differently to every person. Eg: If I looked at a person or a tree would they be a differnt colour, shape or texture? How weird is that?? Does this sound weirder than imagining that the whole world is watching your every move??
Gee, I was a strange child.. LOL

  4. Hey guys im a 15 year old kid and i swear that every one of your theories i have thought of once before. I sometimes get so stuck on that truman show theory that i convince myself that it is real and i just have to accept it. I have also thought about that theory where everyone has a different perspective on everyting, sense wise that is.

  5. uhmm…excuse me for preferring to remain annonymous…im just worried…i’m 18…i think im insane…the whole truman show thing is really getting to me. i feel like…everyone is staring at me when im lookin away then when i turn around…they’re all normal…its gotten to me so bad to the extent that i’ve started doing wrong things thinking that i cant be punished because im in my own show…no one can punish me…then when i snap to reality i start to shake in fear knowing that im NOT in this imaginary world..its taking over me to extents i dont even know…sometimes i wake up having no recollection of when i slep and what i did before i slept…any advice??

  6. i used to think that we were toys and that there were other creatures outthere that controled us!!!
    i was such a freak!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. to me the movie symbolizes life. all we know is what we see ,touch, smell, taste, hear…etc. God the creator is watching from the heavens above.when truman leaves the dome earth it symbolizes death and life after death.

  8. i thought that way too when i was a kid. i always had a suspicion that everybody around me was an actor..then i saw the truman show, and that REALLY freaked me out.
