Movies I’ve Seen Recently

Every now and then I compile a list of the latest movies I’ve seen with a short review on them and then score them out of 10.

So, here are the movies I’ve seen recently and what I think of them.

Runaway Jury, Big Fish, Freaky Friday, Johnny English, Legally Blonde 2 and Master & Commander.

The Runaway Jury
I couldn’t resist renting this. I mean, Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman and John Cusack together just has to be good. And well, I wasn’t let down.
It’s an interesting thriller / drama and it goes along the line of other movies based on John Grisham novels, and gives you an inside trip in the world of law and courts.
Still, even though I liked it, I expected something better.
I give it a 7/10.

Big Fish
Now I just rented this movie because I found nothing else to rent, and I didn’t expect it to be that good. Well, I was wrong.
This is a great movie. I simply loved it.
The story, the acting, the magical fairy tale world it creates, the idea, the message are all really cool.
I give it a 9/10.

Freaky Friday
A fun Disney family movie which is a light nice comedy.
I really enjoyed this.
I give it a 8/10.

Johnny English
At last Rowan Atkinson is not Mr. Bean anymore, he’s a secret services spy who is basically as dumb as Mr. Bean, but he actually talks in this movie.
This was funny, and had a number of good laughs in it.
Natalie Imbruglia looked great in it as usual and Rowan Atkinson did what he does best, act dumb and make people laugh.
I give it a 8/10.

Legally Blonde 2
The first movie was nice, and with this one topping the box office, I thought it could be as good if not better, but I was dissapointed.
The story is stupid and shallow and the movie is quite boring.
I give it a 3/10.

Master & Commander
I heard a lot about this movie and thought I just had to check it out.
I liked it, and i liked the acting, effects, cinematography, photography and directing in it, but still the story isn’t as big as the movie.
It even gets a bit boring at some points.
I give it a 7/10.
