Short Films

Yesterday as i was googling around for the names of people i know, i stumbled across the website for the Amman Filmmakers Cooperative, and to my amazement, i found a number of the short films were by people i know really well :)

I downloaded the films they made and i truly enjoyed them.
Here is a list of the films by the people i know, with a little review and an insight on who the person is :)

Books : by Ahmad Humeid
This is about Books@Café, a great and cool place to hang out in Amman.
It's in an old part of Amman, but it's very modern, providing a magnificent contrast. It also has a great view over the whole of downtown Amman.
I liked this film a lot, and it gave me a sense of nostalgia. I missed the days in which i used to be in Amman and would also frequent Books@Café :)
This film was made by Ahmad Humeid, my ex-Boss, CEO of Syntax, a really nice and great guy.

True Italian Man...True Italian Car : by Yazan Doughan & Ala' Diab
This is a story of a Jordanian guy who dreams of becoming Italian, as he passes his time driving around Amman in his small Fiat Uno, and eating Italian food, lol.
It's really nice and funny :)
This is by 2 friends of mine who also worked with me at Syntax (Yazan : Senior Designer, Ala: Creative Director). Day after day we went out in that small car at lunch time to get something to eat from some fast food or italian joint ;)

Give me one more reason not to : by Amr Toukhy
This is a story about a psychotic graphic designer who simply goes off the edge and kills another designer, lol. It's hilarious. Short but extremely funny, especially when you know who the victim designer is and why he was killed, lol...
This is by Amr Toukhy, a friend, whose wife is also a friend who worked with me at Syntax.
It also features another great friend of mine Ahmad Saqfalhait, who is the designer who gets killed in the story, lol.
Knowing Ahmad and his littles fetishes, that got him killed in the end, made me laugh my head off, lol...
Btw, just in case you were curious, Ahmad also worked at Syntax before he left to go freelance :)

The films are in arabic, and in a Jordanian accent, so if you think you can understand that, i suggest you go download the films and check them out, they're so cool :)
